Caffe Pralet at Eng Hoon Street

Image
Caffe Pralet at 17 Eng Hoon Street (spelled with a double 'f's) is in the Tiong Bahru estate area. The cafe sells very nice cakes and coffee. The place is good for a quiet respite from the busy world outside. The cafe serves many types of cakes and pastries and the place is also a culinary/baking school for 'wanna-be' pastry chefs. Mrupupup had their chocolate cake and took many pictures of the other cakes. Cannot be possibly eating all of the cakes. Enjoy the pictures. Have a coffee while reading Mrupupup's blog. Slurps! Yumzz!

Old Town Coffee outlet at Suntec City

Image
Old Town Coffee outlet has an outlet in Suntec City Mall(Singapore) near to circle line train station. Mrupupup visited Old Town for breakfast. Mrupupup enjoyed their signature white coffee & tea, Lum Mee (very nice noodles - only found in Old Town outlets), and Mrupupup's favourite traditional toast bread with kaya. Loved the cripsy toast bread! Old Town outlet service was quick and really loved the food. Took very nice pictures of the coffee and tea, and the food items. Yummzzz!

The Connossieur Concerto - TCC at Funan IT Mall

Image
The Connossieur Concerto - TCC at Funan IT Mall (Singapore) serves very nice coffee and their western main dishes. Very nice place - with comfortable seats. Mrupupup was lucky that the TCC outlets are having a 1 for 1 mains promotions till August 2012 - order 2 dishes and pay only for one - good value for money. Very good! Mrupupup had Ocean Surfin' - two thick slices of fishes with asparagus and vegetables, and their salmon pasta dish with special tangy sauce. Mrupupup also enjoyed their signature coffee. Yumzz! TCC also has great service - prompt delivery and friendly staff. Enjoy the pictures!

Fatty Cheong Char Siew and Roast Pork Store

Image
Fatty Cheong store at Blk 6 Jalan Bukit Merah #01-120, ABC Hawker Centre Singapore (near to Ikea Bukit Merah) serves very nice char siew, roast pork, roast duck and char siew noodles. The char siew meat and roast duck are very juicy and tender while the roast pork had a very 'crispy' skin layer on the meat. The meats come with a sweet dark sauce. Very nice, 'sinful' meaty food and very long line of people waiting for their food during meal times. Can easily identify Fatty Cheong because of the long line of eager people waiting to order the roast pork, char siew or roast duck. Fatty Cheong is in a local hawker centre and it will costs $3-4 per plate (with rice) for the roast meats - not too expensive to enjoy nice char siew/ roast meats (can save some money). Post some pictures below and Mrupupup wants to let you salivate over the roast meats.

Dome Cafe at Shaw House

Image
Dome Cafe at Shaw House (Level 4) in Orchard Road serves nice western meals. Mrupupup went to Dome Cafe to try out the mushroom soup with the nice pastry on top of the soup bowl. The soup goes very well with the nice pastry and you see from the pictures below that this is very unique, like some French style soup. Mrupupup also tried out their pan fried salmon with brown rice (very nice salmon), lava cake with ice cream, cappucino coffee and plum juice drink. The Dome Cafe at Shaw was not crowded and was a nice place to just chit chat and have a nice meal. Enjoy the pictures especially the soup pictures.

8 Degrees Taiwanese Bistro 八度空间 serves all sorts of Taiwanese/Asian food. 8 Degrees located at 37 Teck Chye Terrace (along Upper Serangoon Road - nearest MRT is Serangoon) - formerly the store was located along Yio Chu Kang Road. The good thing about 8 Degrees is that it opens late till 1am daily and the place is good for Taiwan food. Mrupupup had two bento meals - mango fish and chicken set, which comes with iced green tea. Interestingly, the place sells fruity Taiwanese beer and got mango, pineapple, lychee and white grape flavour. The service at 8 Degrees is good.

Highlander Coffee Place

Image
Highlander Coffee at 49 Kampong Bahru Road is really getting more busy nowadays. Mrupupup visited Highlander Coffee and the place was packed with many people. Mrupupup thinks the Singapore drinking culture has picked up strongly. Well, Mrupupup had a Tiramisu Coffee which was very nice and the coffee was served with a pretty self-made leaf motif on the drink. Mrupupup likes the Tiramisu coffee with a touch of tiramisu sweetness on the drink. Highlander Coffee conducts their coffee appreciation workshop on their premises, serves many types of coffee (example hazelnut, almond flavours)and sandwiches/cakes/pastries. The place is not easy to locate and the nearest train station is Outram. Check out the photos.

Old School Delights at Thomson

Image
Old School Delights (OSD) at Upper Thomson Road area serves local dishes and lots of nostalgia. The eating place is a clever eating concept with the whole deco focus on the theme of going back in time of 'old school days'. The food served was pretty alright and was crowded during meal time. There are games like 'Old Maid' to play and enjoy the old photographs on the wall. Mrupupup had nasi lemak, chicken cutlet rice, thick coffee and bandung syrup drink. Just want to mention that the service in OSD was impressive. The Lady Boss took effort to ask whether Mrupupup was there for the first time. On the way out, we gave the feedback that the drinks order were mixed up and the Lady Boss gave us a small complimentary packet of cookies (good gesture) and took note of our feedback. Excellent service OSD!
