Traditional Putu Piring at Haig Road

Putu Piring store sells a Malay traditional coconut snack filled with sweet coconut and brown sugar bits (gula melaka). Putu Piring is a steam rice flour cake snack with lots of grated coconut. Mrupupup thought this store had disappeared after the coffeeshop the store originally was at became some provision shop. Mrupupup was happy to find the Putu Piring store at Blk 14 Haig Road hawker centre #01-08. Each packet of 'steamed' Putu Piring costed $2 for about 4-5 pieces. Mrupupup loved the sweet taste of this putu piring dessert snack and the snacks were all handmade by the ladies. Pretty happy and Mrupupup ate up all the pieces in double quick time! Yummss!
