Pasta De Waraku @ Changi Airport

Image
Yummy. Pasta de Waraku serves up Western style food with a nice Japanese touch. Mrupupup went to the Pasta De Waraku branch at Changi Aiport Terminal 2. Mrupupup enjoyed a very nice thin crusted pizza filled with crab roe and potato (about $14) & duck pasta (about $15). Pasta De Waraku has many choices for pasta and pizza. You could take a pick of your favorite just by looking at the plastic version of the food dish. Pasta De Waraku staff were very attentive. The waiters were quick and served Mrupupup well. Pretty good! Very nice pizza - hmmmm! the duck was delicious!

Youtube Fan Fest 2013 in Singapore

Image
Mrupupup was invited to attend the Youtube Fan Fest 2013 held in Ritz Carlton Hotel Singapore Ballroom last week. It was really fun to see and hear from the Youtube Stars. Loved the beatbox from Hikakin, Rap music from Namewee, singing from David Choi and Steph Micalye (a local Singapore Youtube singer). There were also appearances from Youtube stars that do funny videos, cooking show by a Japanese lady with a dog by her side and a duo that did car modifications video. The Youtube Fan Fest was really an eye-opener. Youtube stars were really cool people and they have the talent to do their 'thing' on video and post it on Youtube. Mrupupup personal favourites were Hikakin (Japnese beatbox star) doing Beethoven music using only his voice and Namewee with his multi language rap music (he even rapped in Cantonese and Thai!). Really good event, I am a fan of Youtube - do check out the Youtube videos below. Steph Micalye David Choi Namewee Crazy Fans

DBS Dragon Boat Marina Regatta 2013

Image
Mrpupup was invited to cover the DBS Dragon Boat Marina Regatta 2013 held over the weekend at Marina Bay Area, Singapore. The international dragon boat racing event attracted a huge crowd in the Marina Bay area. Mrupupup liked this year's DBS Marina Regatta as the event had a Social Entreprise Carnival whereby people could buy gifts made by organisations helping the less fortunate. Great event and exciting dragon boat races. Video of the dragon boat race

Mrupupup was delighted to attend Anita Kapoor's TLC & SKII event over the weekend. Anita Kapoor is a wonderful TV host for Travel & Living Channel. The event was held in a 'hip' place known as Nektar located in colonial house at 31 Scotts Road. It was a great event to know more about Anita Kapoor. She was a great host and had lots of energy. Tim Ho Wan's Buns on Sale for Charity

Image
Mrupupup managed to grab one of Tim Ho Wan's famous char siew buns during their charity sale recently. One char siew bun was on sale for $2. Mrupupup wanted to try only one bun to taste. Wah! The char siew bun really lived up to its name as one of the five famous 'heavenly' food of Tim Ho Wan. Well, Tim Ho Wan is a one-Michelin star Hong Kong dim sum restaurant that recently opened in Singapore's Plaza Singapore (Atrium Wing) with very long queues everyday. The char siew bun made of pork fillings was very tasty and loved the crusty bun. Now, Mrupupup knows why Tim Ho Wan is so popular in Singapore. Mrupupup got to find one day when the queue is short to eat the other famous food items in Tim Ho Wan. Mrupupup felt very good to eat the nice char siew bun and do a bit for charity. Nice!
