ONE FC : Honor and Glory One Fighting Championship MMA Singapore

Image
Mrupupup had the tickets to attend the MMA One Fighting Championship One FC : Honor and Glory at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The tickets were complementary. Thanks to sponsors. The ONE FC is a popular fighting championship in Asia. MMA fighters with various styles go all out to quash their opponents. The opponents were all very clinical in their fight moves. Mrupupup totally enjoyed the spectacle of the Cage Arena in Singapore Indoor Stadium. The main event of the night held on 30 May 2014  One FC - Honor and Glory was the undefeated Ben Funky Askren from United States vs Bakhtiyar Abbasov from Azerbaijan. Very exciting stuff - in the end, Ben Funky Askren from United States won through submission over his opponent. MMA style fighting championship is a very fast growing sport in Asia. Hear Mrupupup Roar in the arena, no lah Mrupupup cannot fight. Mrupupup only yell in support for the fighters! RooooaaaaR!

Grub at Bishan Park

Image
Grub is casual dining place located at Bishan Park 1 (nearer to Thomson Road side) - 510 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1. When Mrupupup went to Grub, there were many people on a weekend morning. Joggers, people with nice dogs, couples and families were having a meal and having delightful conversations at Grub. Mrupupup ordered an All Day Breakfast which came with eggs, focaccia bread, sausages, vegetables and nice cup of coffee. This set costs $15. Not cheap for a breakfast option. Grub was a good place to chill out on a hot weekend morning and enjoy the place. Mrupupup might want to come again to try out their other stuff like French Toast and nice desserts. Take note Brunch at Grub is till 3pm daily. Great ambience at Grub!

Tim Ho Wan Yummy Dim Sum In Singapore

Image
Tim Ho Wan's Dim Sum makes Mrupupup happy. Well, one fine day, Mrupupup went to the Tim Ho Wan store to eat their famous Dim Sum dishes. If you don't know, the Hong Kong's Tim Ho Wan has a one Michelin star. Well, Mrupupup went to eat at the outlet in Dhoby Ghaut Plaza Singapore #01-29A (Orchard Road). Mrupupup had all four heavenly dishes which include the famous and Mrupupup's favourite 1) Char siew Bun, 2) carrot cake, 3) rice vermicelli with liver and 4) the steam cake. Also had their eggy porridge, glutinous rice, steam pork balls, siew mai (with pork) and their prawn roll (ha gao). Mrupupup loved it. The prices range from $4 to $6 per dish. Be prepared to spend $15-$17 per person on the Dim Sum dishes. One more thing, be prepared for noise, people just keep on talking like those Hong Kong dim sum places. Pretty good! If you don't like to queue for about half an hour at Plaza Singapore outlet, one can try going to the Tim Ho Wan outlet in Toa Payoh area a

Bukit Brown Cemetery: Documented Past of Singapore

Image
Bukit Brown Cemetery is well documented in Singapore. The fight by civic societies to preserve this Bukit Brown Cemetery raised much interest in this place. Bukit Brown Cemetery holds up to 100,000 burial plots for the Chinese. The famous personalities buried there included Mr Ong Sam Leong (very rich man), Chew Joo Chiat, Gan Eng Seng and many more. Take note that Mr Ong Sam Leong's burial place is the largest and most elaborate in the Bukit Brown area. Bukit Brown Cemetery is located off the Sime Road and near to Singapore Island Country Club. As this cemetery is facing some changes to the site due the construction of a road through this place, Mrupupup went to see this Bukit Brown place. Well, Mrupupup thinks it is quite a big place and quiet with many interesting birds chirping. The most impressive thing of Bukit Brown were the tombs. Just to let Mrupupup's readers know that some tombs had Sikh Guards placed next to the tombs. One tomb even had two colourful Sikh Guards w

Ah Hoi's Kitchen at Traders Hotel Singapore

Image
Mrupupup went to the Ah Koi's Kitchen at Traders Hotel Singapore to try out their crab dishes. Traders Hotel is located at 1A Cuscaden Road (Tanglin area). Wow, Ah Hoi's Kitchen crab dishes were fantastic and yummy! Mrupupup on a warm evening tried out the fried Cereal Crab, Crab Bee Hoon noodles in pot and Crab with Black Pepper sauce. Ah Hoi's Kitchen gave an overdose of crab food to Mrupupup on this day! Out of the crabs served, Mrupupup loved the Crabs with Bee Hoon Noodles because one could taste the sweet Sri Lankan crab meat served with the yummy soup. Situated next to poolside of Trader's Hotel, Ah Hoi's Kitchen provides a relaxing place to dine in. This quiet setting allows Mrupupup to really appreciate the meal. The waiters were friendly. However, the place was very warm! Extremely warm and uncomfortable if you were wearing a nice long short or pretty dress to dine at Ah Hoi's Kitchen. Mrupupup even took a picture of an industrial size fan in the r

May the Fourth Day 2014 Star Wars at Jurong Library

Image
Mrupupup had an interesting day at the Jurong Regional Library. Why? Because May the Four (Force) be with you event was held at Jurong Library to help remember the good times Star Wars Movies had on the generation of adults. The event was great with Dark Lord (Darth Vader), Storm Troopers, Jedi Knights and Imperial Soldiers gracing the event. The Library also had space to showcase the Star Wars toys, had a special screening of the making of Kenner Star Wars toys, Helmets designed by artists and great photo taking opportunities with the Star Wars troops from Legion 501 (Singapore). Really great fun event! The kids were having fun and talking to their parents on the Star Wars toys. Great event kudos to the organisers and the National Library Board! May the Four (Force) be with you! Video of Storm Troopers
