Fuji Takes First HSBC Singapore Rugby Sevens Title

55,000 fans enjoyed Singapore Rugby 7s - Family Sevens [SINGAPORE,  29 APRIL 2018 ]:   Fiji won its third HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series tournament in a row with a thrilling  28-22 win over Australia, who reached their first Cup final since winning their home event in Sydney earlier this year - on new coach Tim Walsh’s first outing with the team. The four-time titlists this season also climbed into first place on the Series ladder on 145 points, four ahead of South Africa, who ran England close in the Bronze medal match, losing 26-24. Fiji won in gripping fashion after close-run affairs over New Zealand (third on the series) in the quarterfinal and South Africa (series leaders heading into this weekend) in the semis. Scotland beats Italy in Historic Rugby Test Match in Singapore

SINGAPORE, 10 June 2017 – Scotland coach Gregor Townsend was rewarded with a well-deserved 34-13 win over Italy for his first match in charge in the first ever international test played between two Six Nations teams in Southeast Asia. The rugby match was held in Singapore's Sports Hub Stadium. The Scots delivered a five-try victory for their coach in front of over 9,000 fans at the Singapore National Stadium and were off to a fast start when flyhalf Finn Russell kicked Scotland into an early 3-0 lead after just six minutes. Italy drew level through a Tommaso Allan penalty in the 10 th  minute and managed to hold the Scots for most of the first half. Scotland finally made the breakthrough in the 38 th  minute when scrumhalf Ali Price dived over the line for a 8-3 lead. Sunwolves Draw 17-17 with Stormers in Super Rugby League at Singapore Sports Hub 2016 May

On a hot and humid evening in Singapore Sports Hub, the Sunwolves almost pulled off an upset win over the more experienced South Africa’s Stomers on 14 May 2016 in the Super Rugby League game. The Sunwolves wasted an 18-point lead when they lost to the Cheetahs at the same venue in   Singapore two months ago and the Singapore Sports Hub supporters feared another breakdown when Stormers scored a try off the back of a driving maul and also had the rugby conversion to reduce the margin to seven points with 20 minutes left of the game. The game was super exciting at the closing stages. South Africa’s Stormers’s Vincent Koch scored a late try in the last minute as the team came from 14 points down to manage a 17-17 draw against Super Rugby newcomers the Sunwolves at Singapore's National Stadium.
