Mr Baguette -store that sells Baguette!

Image
I like Mr Baguette. Located at Golden Mile Hawker Centre, along Beach Road #B1-51 store number. As the name of the store implies, the humble store sells baguette (French bread cups but in smaller version) that are filled with different toppings like egg custard, red velvet, tiramisu and many flavours. The prices are reasonable about $1.50 to $1.80. The baguette bread came in a small bread cup, eat it slowly or you would get your mouth and even your nose stuff with the fillings (haha, mrupupup's nose got red velvet filling once). Mrupupup also bought Mr Baguette's garlic bread which was very crispy and nice. If you ask Mrupupup, the fillings with egg custard and red velvet were the most yummy! Eat the baguette while it is hot- super nice!

Alfero Artisan Gelato at Orchard Gateway

Image
Alfero Artisan Gelato at Orchard Gateway #B02-06 got the most yummy Gelato Ice Cream on the island. With a voucher for $5, Mrupupup tried out the Gelato at Alfero Artisan Gelato. Mrupupup looked at the various tubs of Gelato. The tubs were chilled and hidden inside those tubs were various flavours of Gelato. There were flavours of hazelnut, durian (premium), chocolate, berries and many more. As we were trying to match the flavours for two scoops, Mrupupup ordered the Matcha Green Tea and yuzu flavours. These two flavours - one sweet (matcha) and the other a bit sour (yuzu fruit). The combinations was yummy and smooth. With the voucher, mrupupup paid only $0.90 of the $5.90 price. Mrupupup also had a nice seat inside the shop which was crowded on a weekday night. People were just chatting over the Gelato and having a good time. Oh, taken from the table-note about Gelato as compared to normal ice cream, Gelato contains all natural ingredients which gave a richer & smoother tast

Le Cafe Golf Ball Size Pineapple Tarts

Image
In the spirit of the up-coming Chinese new Year, Mrupupup visited the Le Café at Blk 42 Cambridge Road. Le Café also have outlets at Blk 637 Veerasamy Road and 264 Middle Road. Wow, the golf ball size pineapple tarts was simply big and very nice. Mrupupup tried one pineapple tart and it was so filling that mrupupup had no much appetite for other snacks. The pineapple tart was huge, flavourful, yummy and totally enjoyable. Mrupupup say go try the pineapple tarts and each box varies from $18 to $21 (for ten big tarts) depending on when you buy the tarts, as closer to Chinese New Year date would mean an increase in price. Slowly enjoying the golf ball pineapple tart while writing this blog post. So very good!     The shops also sells other traditional cookies

Egg Tarts from Fancy Delight

Image
Mrupupup going to tell you a store where it sells egg tarts. Fancy Delight sells all sorts of egg tarts which come in many flavours: strawberry, apple cinnamon, banana, durian, orange chocolate, kiwi and many more. Mrupupup went to the Nex mall at level 3 near to NTUC. Shusssh, don't tell people that the egg tarts are nice. The egg tarts comes with wholesome soft sweetness with many flavours and the crust tasted good. Think don't eat too many egg tarts, too many eggs for the week means high cholesterol. Mrupupup likes the orange chocolate egg tart! Another secret - Fancy Delights sells the egg tarts at a much cheaper price of $1 per tart  between 9pm to 10pm in order to get rid of stock for the day. A money saving tip! If cannot wait, just get one egg tart at $1.40 or better still just get a box to share. Yummys!!!
