Pasir Ris Park Singapore

Image
Mrupupup went to Pasir Ris Park in the eastern part of Singapore. Took many pictures and enjoyed the calmness of the park. People were just running, skating, cycling and enjoying the evening breeze. Very nice place! Pasir Ris Park has many creatures to see like big size herons, eagles, crabs, fish and even a horse shoe crab (a prehistoric creature!).This coastal horseshoe crab is not a 'crab' but more related to spider. It is interesting that Singapore is the only place in the world where there is known permanently high density of horseshoe crabs. Fossils of horseshoe crab have been dated to over 400 million years ago and looked almost identical to the species still alive today. Pasir Ris Park is very nice place and enjoyed seeing the trees sway to the strong winds. The low tide on that day allowed to see the creatures along the beach. Nice Pasir Ris Park. MakeShake Milkshakes Singapore

Image
Mrupupup had a milkshake at MakeShake Singapore located at basement 2 of City Square Mall.  MakeShake is a customisable premium  milkshake  concept in  Singapore . Mrupupup had a chocolate oreo type of milkshake for around $3. Mrupupup just loved their quirky chairs and tables with lots of messages on having milkshake. The oreo milkshake was thick and nice. Woooo... the place has many flavours of milkshakes & frozen yoghurts. Mrupupup could keep on trying milkshakes for a long time. Yummys! Life seems better with a milkshake in hand.

Ruyi Chinese Food @ Changi Airport

Image
Ruyi Chinese fast food restaurant at Changi Airport Terminal 1 served a nice meal for Mrupupup.  Mrupupup ordered a set consisting of zhajiang mee, herbal jelly and very nice soup.  The restaurant, named  Ruyi  which means 'As One's Wishes' in Chinese, is the first fast-food Chinese restaurant to be introduced in Singapore and the place is 24 hours. Ruyi also serves dim sum, noodles and rice based meals. The Ruyi set meal costs about $11.80. The taste was very nice for the zhajiang mee and Mrupupup liked the herbal jelly (long time never had one). Ruyi was quiet (not many people) and one need not squeeze with the crowd during meal times to have a decent Chinese meal. Pretty nice meal place for dinner - Ruyi.

Singapore Philatelic Museum

Image
Mrupupup visited the Singapore Philatelic Museum along the Hill Street area in Singapore (at 23 B Coleman Street). This museum stores all sorts of stamps used in Asia and Singapore. Mrupupup liked this museum for the place gives one a sense of history through viewing the stamps. Entry fee costs $5 for one to see all the history of stamps in Singapore and very valuable stamp collections. Currently, the museum is exhibiting a collection of stamps from Thailand. Do visit the Singapore Philatelic Museum, although it is in a small 19th century building, the stamps are worth taking a closer look.

Wah Kee Cuttlefish Kang Kong 华记鱿鱼蕹菜

Image
Mrupupup encountered this dish named 'Cuttlefish Kang Kong'  华记鱿鱼蕹菜  at the Blk 16 Bedok South Hawker Centre #01-193. Never knew this cuttlefish kang kong dish existed in a hawker centre. The dish is special and comes with cuttlefish (fresh and soft), kang kong vegetables, pineapple slices, peanuts, bean sprouts and lots of special sauce (sweet and sour). The cuttlefish kang kong costs $3 per plate and tastes very nice. Mrupupup never had a sweet and sour tasting dish for a long time! This stall has been in operations since the 1980s and it was the first time Mrupupup discovered it! Wah! Watch out for the long queue! The reason for the stall's popularity is due to the use of the fresh ingredients. A simple dish and made well with very fresh ingredients. Mrupupup totally enjoyed the tender cuttlefish, fresh vegetables and nice sauce to go with it all. Yummsss!

Hill Street Fried Kway Teow @ Bedok

Image
Finally, Mrupupup found the famous Hill Street Fried Kway Teow at the Blk 16 Bedok South Hawker Centre #01-187 (after along search). So yummy the Black Fried Kway Teow. Mrupupup ordered $3 plate with chilli. There are other versions at $4 and $5. Anyway, Mrupupup ate up the nice fried kway teow and do take note this plate of fried kway teow had lots of fried pig lard, little green vegetables, eggs, black soya sauce & Chinese sausage to give it an extra ooomph! Do prepare to wait for the stall attracts a long queue. Fried Kway Teow a simple Singaporean noodle dish which taste good and 'helps' to add on the calories to one's life.
