Image
Bee Guan's orange peel with sour plum is a very refreshing drink. Mrupupup went to this stall named Bee Guan coffee stall at Whampoa Market # 01-23 two times to try out this drink. Mrupupup's verdict - best drink in Singapore on a hot day! The drink was very nice and pretty cheap at $1.50 with a large amounts of orange peel and came in two cups of cold water. Great value for money and fantastic on a hot day in Singapore! Oh, the uncle that sells the drink is quite a generous man. Ho Tit Coffee Powder Factory is an old coffee powder maker for all kinds of blends - Arabica and Robusta coffee beans. Ho Tit Coffee Powder Factory is located at 402 Upper Paya Lebar Road Singapore 534988. This place protects the craft of roasting traditional coffee. Mrupupup bought a pack of special blend "heart beat fast' blend as coined by the female boss of the place for about $7-8, price much cheaper than major supermarkets. A money saving tip for coffee powder. Go to Ho Tit Coffee Powder Manufacturer and you can view the traditional machines to roast coffee. Quite an interesting place and the owners will chit chat with you of your coffee preference. Hope we can preserve one of the last traditional coffee roasters in Singapore.           Special Blend - Ho Tit Coffee Blend know as 'Heart Beat Fast'

Teo Heng KTV Karaoke Studio - value for money

Image
Teo Heng KTV Karaoke  studio is a 'value for money' place for karaoke singing sessions. Do go there because Mrupupup paid only $4.50 for a three hour singing session with 8 people. Really cheap. While the system is not very advanced and the room is simple, the great music makes up for everything. Mrupupup spent 3 hours at the outlet at Buona Vista (NTU alumni club - level 8) with my friends so it's really nice that they have cheap standard drinks and a nicely cold room, with music of your choice.  Scrape kbox and party world, Teo Heng is the place to be. Another good thing about the venue was that they do not charge you extras for tidbits and compulsory drinks on the menu like other places. You can buy a can of drink from the counter from as low as $1 and you can even bring in your own food. Mrupupup's only irk is that their location could have been a bit more accessible than NTU alumni club in Buona Vi...

Egg Tarts from Fancy Delight

Image
Mrupupup going to tell you a store where it sells egg tarts. Fancy Delight sells all sorts of egg tarts which come in many flavours: strawberry, apple cinnamon, banana, durian, orange chocolate, kiwi and many more. Mrupupup went to the Nex mall at level 3 near to NTUC. Shusssh, don't tell people that the egg tarts are nice. The egg tarts comes with wholesome soft sweetness with many flavours and the crust tasted good. Think don't eat too many egg tarts, too many eggs for the week means high cholesterol. Mrupupup likes the orange chocolate egg tart! Another secret - Fancy Delights sells the egg tarts at a much cheaper price of $1 per tart  between 9pm to 10pm in order to get rid of stock for the day. A money saving tip! If cannot wait, just get one egg tart at $1.40 or better still just get a box to share. Yummys!!!

Sushi Express at Citylink

Image
Mrupupup first time tried out Sushi Express (food chain originated from Taiwan) located at Citylink Mall (#B1-23 - near to adidas sports store), Singapore. Why first time? Because the queue is very long! That friday evening- Mrupupup got to brave the queue for 45 minutes and find out why the place was so popular. Mrupupup could find two reasons for Sushi Express's popularity - cheap and decent sushi & sashimi. Where to find in Singapore $1.50 plates for all Japanese conveyor belt food?  Sushi Express had salmon sashimi, sushi of various types and many more..... All the dishes at $1.50 per plate (excluding service charges). Mrupupup just ate about 15 plates of sushi express! Too much salmon in Mrupupup's belly, burp! Nice prawn sashimi - quite sweet & fresh All Sushi at $1.50 Conveyor belt sushi Look at the pinkish fresh salmon Rows of salmon sushi - fresh on the conveyor belt Full hous...
