SMTOWN The Stage Documentary Movie

Image
Do check out the SMTOWN the Stage Movie (documentary). Very nice and thrilling show (because of the fast paced hip hop dance). Mrupupup saw this documentary movie which described the lives of the Korean singing and dance artiste in the Korean music industry (SMTOWN).  The  documentary presents footage from Korea's SM Entertainment's recent worldwide concert tour, " SMTOWN  Live World Tour IV" in Korea, Japan, and China and  features Korean superstars & groups like  BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls Generation and Red Velvet. One could see many things like backstage action, how they trained for many years to be famous, how trainees need to train on and on to get at least a chance to be on SMTOWN Stage. One Korean Group trained in dance steps and lyrics for two years to debut one single Korean song. Wow, two years the same song on and on. Very nice show and Mrupupup thinks only Golden Village Plaza Singapore and GV Tampines are showing this movie in their cinemas.

Singapore Jazz Festival 2014 at Marina Bay Sands Very cool Jazz Music

Image
Mrupupup was at the Singapore Jazz Festival 2014 held at the Marina Bay Sands Hotel Main Event area - March 2014. The event was great and the jazz music was smooth flowing. Loved the jazz music especially from Gregory Porter and his band. Mr Sato the saxophonist for Gregory Porter's jazz band earn more claps than Gregory Porter himself. Singapore Jazz Festival 2014 was the best with the backdrop of the beautiful city skyline, flow of drinks, people chilling to the music and the jazz was absolutely world class. Mrupupup felt like he was in some jazz bar in New York when Gregory Porter sang about Harlem. Great music and great jazz. Singapore music scene is going to be one of the best in Asia. Bring back the soul music to Singapore. Oh yeah !

Teo Heng KTV Karaoke Studio - value for money

Image
Teo Heng KTV Karaoke  studio is a 'value for money' place for karaoke singing sessions. Do go there because Mrupupup paid only $4.50 for a three hour singing session with 8 people. Really cheap. While the system is not very advanced and the room is simple, the great music makes up for everything. Mrupupup spent 3 hours at the outlet at Buona Vista (NTU alumni club - level 8) with my friends so it's really nice that they have cheap standard drinks and a nicely cold room, with music of your choice.  Scrape kbox and party world, Teo Heng is the place to be. Another good thing about the venue was that they do not charge you extras for tidbits and compulsory drinks on the menu like other places. You can buy a can of drink from the counter from as low as $1 and you can even bring in your own food. Mrupupup's only irk is that their location could have been a bit more accessible than NTU alumni club in Buona Vista (11 Slim Barracks Rise - near to Buona Vista MRT Station).
