Parkway Parade and its guests

Wow, Parkway Parade was really busy today. Mrupupup thinks Parkway Parade is an evergreen mall with few competitors on the eastern part of Singapore. Today, Mrupupup wandered around Parkway Parade. The old shops were still there like Giant, MPH, Photography shop at its basement, and the many fashion shops. Mrupupup kind of missed the food court, after the renovation, the whole place is now taken up by 'boring' Food Republic. The old food court of Parkway Parade had Mrupupup's favourite mee rebus and herbal jelly stall.  Kind of missed that food stall. Singapore has too many 'Food Republic' food courts, kind of boring. Anyway, Mrupupup went to eat at Putien. The Putien had very good wait staff and they were a courteous bunch of people. The food ordered Putien dry Bee Hoon and Lor Mee were as usual simply yummy. Mrupupup always wondered how this Heng Hwa Chinese type of food had some form of attractiveness to the style of cooking that one must go to savour it. Y

Moon andy Biiboo

Moon rises and calm prevails in Zing Zing World. The rustle of clothes been 'tanned' by the moonlight at our Zing Zing World Doobie Apartments. Softly and gently are the snores of the night. From the night, rises the Night Watchman covering all of Zing Zing World.        The Night Watchman complained of the recent case of some strange "Andyman" complaining of our Doobie trains. Andyman is a pink skin being from outer realm of Zing Zing World.  Night Watchman felt that the Andyman was a bad menace to Zing Zing World. "Let society rise up against the tyranny of Andyman although Doobie Trains were at fault at times," exclaimed the Night Watchman.       Zing Zing World settled into the night. Her motherland feeling at peace, but the morning would come. Zing Zing World would spring to life again. The cycle of Doobie trains would begin as everyday would be and the netizens of Zing Zing World would continue in its quest to fill the internet space.      The mo

Story imagination

A typical day started out in Zing Zing world. The sun was up today. It was bright but surprisingly the day was cool. Sometimes, Mr Up Up Up wondered the world would end soon in this lifetime. The weather today was an indication.        Mrupupup hopped onto the local Zing Zing World transport - Mass Doobie Transport (the train). Poor transport authorities, every other day somehow or rather a train would break down somewhere out there. Life goes on even the train don't work. Zing Zing world people are a zealous lot; out to work, out to school, out to some hobby, out to have life.        Zoom. The train came and picked up Mrupupup. Off it went to the location - the imaginary stop of Makanworld. Ding dong, alighting Mrupupup. The trains in Zing Zing world were like space capsules, it moved fast and very automated (without drivers).         Makanworld. Zing Zing World's stop for food. Mrupupup thought that Zing Zing World was one big makan nation. Apologies to those readers fr

Conversation over White Chocolate Ice Cream with Waffle

Last night, Mrupupup was in a cafe. Mrupupup ordered waffles with white chocolate ice cream which came a with tinge of Bailey's cream. On Mrupupup's left and right, conversation was happening about everybody's daily lives.           On Mrupupup's right, the table sat a couple. The couple consisted of a pudgy looking girl and a slim, handsome looking young man. Mrupupup guessed they must be dating. Mrupupup always wondered why a couple would come together because of common experiences or a chance moment. Anyway, the couple's conversation was held over a white chocolate ice cream waffle with additional cups of green tea mocha cafe.         The girl was happy with the guy. As their conversation continued, the girl gave the the boy a 'sniggle' present  wrapped in a white plastic bag which Mrupupup's think was a pencil case. The girl gingerly said, "Happy Birthday! An early present for you". The boy smiled and never said a word. Mrupupup sensed

Croquette and Japanese Doctor

Mrupupup took along a Japanese croquette, an umbrella and a hot flask of green tea to visit a famous Shinto temple in Sendai, Japan. Japanese croquette was delicately placed in orange container. You know how Japanese croquette are like, they are just so nice to eat with their bread crumbed and soft potato taste. Well, this Japanes croquette had a salmon filling in it too.      Mrupupup took the train line from his hotel in Sendai. Mrupupup looked in amazement the multi coloured lines of the trains on the board. Luckily, Mrupupup's mate got a way to 'decipher' the correct train line to take to this Shinto temple.      Mrupupup took the efficient red train line to the correct stop and alighted. As the train came to a stop, the ever lovely pre-recorded music played and train captain made announcements and wished every passenger a good day. How Mrupupup wished Singapore's trains could be so pleasant? The music la-di-da-li-da-di played was beautiful and often rang in Mru

Tim Palace Restaurant:Conversations over Chinese Dinner

Image
Conversation over an 8 course Chinese dinner could be interesting. Mrupupup had to sit next to an new person and in order to avoid all discomfort for about 4 hours Mrupupup just opened the mouth and TALK.         Pretty interesting talking to a new person. He is a young man and a freelance photographer making a living shooting wedding events. He said wedding photography could be a tiring trade. Mrupupup sensed he was not enjoying it. He described how wedding couples could be so picky in their photography shoots. There were couples that have the money and bring him out to places like Sydeny, USA and many places just to shoot the wedding photos.        As we talked the 8 food dishes arrived one after another, all the dishes as photographed were very delicious at TIM Palace Restaurant located in the newly renovated SAFRA Toa Payoh. Mrupupup particularly enjoyed the fish maw soup, bird's nest dessert and suckling roast pig.  Mrupupup as a 'wannabe' photographer just photogr

Over hot chocolate...

Over hot chocolate at Wimby Lu Cafe, my discussion did went well. The hot chocolate was dark with marshmallow bits in the drink. So was my discussion with my mate, the conversation touched on raw topics with sweetness in between. Wimby Lu was really crowded today. The place was filled with young 'workies' (working adults, who work all day like zombies). Singapore is filled with many 'workies'. All 'workies' strive to earn as much money as possible so as to spend it away in cafes like Wimbly Lu having latte, waffles with cheesecake ice cream and crème brulee with chocolate top. As Mrupupup sat at one spot in Wimby Lu, the conversation nearby was of life's possibilities. One workie was saying to another: "Let's go and buy a house, the property market is hot." The other workie replied: " Oh no! My life will be a slave to the banks." Oh man, the realities of life bites hard. The next table was a pair of young workies. They sat down
