The DBS Marina Regatta is back, and this time, it is bigger and better than ever. This year’s regatta holds special significance with the 28th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games (held in Singapore) to bring the best of the region’s sailing and dragon boating teams to Marina Bay in celebration of SG50 (Singapore is 50 years old).The Regatta spans three weekends, enabling even more people to join in the fun. Each weekend will offer something different for the community, including those who live and work around the Marina Bay area, sports enthusiasts and families. MOST LIKED PHOTOS REVEALED FOR SINGAPORE’S FIRST COMMUNITY GENERATED STORY USING INSTAGRAM AND VINE ***   Over 3,000 photos and videos of DBS Marina Regatta 2013 posted on popular social media platforms over two weekends DBS Bank revealed the three most liked photos of Singapore’s first community generated story using Instagram and Vine , held during the DBS Marina Regatta 2013 which were posted on popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Vine and Twitter. Phoneographers demonstrated their mobile photography and videography skills on a wide variety of subjects at Singapore’s biggest water sports festival which spanned two weekends, starting with the Dragon Boat Races from 18-19 May, and concluding with the Bay Festival on 24-25 May 2013. Phoneographers had the opportunity to capture exciting races where more than 130 international and local teams paddled against one another in the waters of Marina Bay. Mrpupup was invited to cover the DBS Dragon Boat Marina Regatta 2013 held over the weekend at Marina Bay Area, Singapore. The international dragon boat racing event attracted a huge crowd in the Marina Bay area. Mrupupup liked this year's DBS Marina Regatta as the event had a Social Entreprise Carnival whereby people could buy gifts made by organisations helping the less fortunate. DBS Marina Regatta Dragon Boat 2012 held from 4-6 May 2012 in the Marina Bay Waterfront area, Singapore. The international Dragon Boat race event sponsored by DBS Bank attracted about 100 teams to compete in various races and many teams are from overseas countries like Malaysia, Philippines, Hong Kong, Brunei and Indonesia. The Indonesians are all out to win as seen by the way they trained in the waters. As Mrupupup was invited by DBS Bank marketing department (thanks DBS!), I had an exclusive chance to preview the event and take nice photos. I would thank also the URA Marina Bay staff for arranging the Joyride in a Dragon Boat right to the middle of Marina Bay Waterfront area (near to Marina Bay Sands). I got one video to show how 'hard' we amateurs paddle in the short joyride (about 200 metres). The joyride was fun and 'risky' because Mrupupup kind of worried Dragon Boat would capsize. Haha! Always wanted to try Dragon Boat sport in my life, an Asian sport with 2,000 years of history. Well Mrupupup got a chance to see how people try for Dragon Boat racing. Dragon Boat involves many people sitting in one long boat and working together to go as fast as possible. Was an interesting day to see people train for Dragon Boat racing at Kallang Watersports Centre in Singapore. I just took many photographs and enjoy seeing people working hard together in their Dragon Boat.
