Watanabe Coffee Singapore - Japanese Cafe in Orchard Road

Image
Watanabe Coffee place is a Japanese theme cafĂ© with Japanese style coffee and desserts. If you like matcha 'green tea' stuff, well this is the place to enjoy matcha and plenty of desserts. Watanabe Coffee opened at Shaw Centre Orchard Road on the ground floor, just next to Isetan Scotts. The place also sells spaghetti, matcha pudding, ice cream, matcha parfait and Shibuya bread toast. Mrupupup ordered the Japanese matcha green tea latte and their swiss roll filled with coffee and caramel. Both orders came up to about $15. The cake and green tea latte were alright. Quite expensive for dessert and coffee, but you are in Orchard Road so expect prices to be steep. Watanabe CafĂ© dĂ©cor looks like a warehouse. Do take note the place gets crowded and try your best not to sit under the spotlights which made Mrupupup hot and uncomfortable in the cafĂ©. The spotlights were located at one corner of the cafĂ©. Super bright spotlights! Anyway, enjoy your day at Watanabe CafĂ© and...

Fullerton Waterboat House 100th Starbucks Singapore store

Image
Mrupupup checked out Starbucks Singapore's 100th store at Fullerton Waterboat House at 3 Fullerton Road second floor. Mrupupup must say this is the most spacious and beautiful Starbucks store in Singapore (just opened in February 2014). With its wonderful location overlooking the Singapore River, the coffee place was a very nice experience for coffee lovers who just want to chill and relax. Mrupupup loved the store was designed with many photos of old Singapore, especially remembering the history of the Fullerton Waterboat House. This store is also unique because it hired people with special needs (very good!). Ok, Mocha Frappuccino please, make it a Venti size please! Mrupupup just want to chill out!

Costa Coffee At Plaza Singapore

Image
Mrupupup enjoyed the Costa Coffee at the second floor of Plaza Singapore. Costa Coffee was created in London by two Italian immigrants as so the story was told on the wall of Costa Coffee outlet. Well, Costa Coffee was good and fragrant. Mrupupup ordered the cappuccino and latte. Both drink costs $5.80. The beautiful thing was the nice Costa sign placed onto the cappuccino drink. made the coffee drink much more nicer. The environment was very vibrant for a Friday evening, people were just talking and enjoying their coffee into the night. Very nice, Mrupupup felt happy with coffee.

Ho Tit Coffee Powder Factory

Image
Ho Tit Coffee Powder Factory is an old coffee powder maker for all kinds of blends - Arabica and Robusta coffee beans. Ho Tit Coffee Powder Factory is located at 402 Upper Paya Lebar Road Singapore 534988. This place protects the craft of roasting traditional coffee. Mrupupup bought a pack of special blend "heart beat fast' blend as coined by the female boss of the place for about $7-8, price much cheaper than major supermarkets. A money saving tip for coffee powder. Go to Ho Tit Coffee Powder Manufacturer and you can view the traditional machines to roast coffee. Quite an interesting place and the owners will chit chat with you of your coffee preference. Enjoy the conversation and have a cuppa of coffee. Hope we can preserve one of the last traditional coffee roasters in Singapore.           Special Blend - Ho Tit Coffee Blend know as 'Heart Beat Fast'

Book Cafe at Martin Road

Image
Mrupupup was at the Book Cafe located along 20 Martin Road (near to the Robertson Quay area). Really enjoyable experience just to sit down in a nice cafe. Mrupupup had an all-day breakfast set at 2pm and coffee cappuccino  The Book Cafe was really crowded on a weekend afternoon. People just came into the cafe, ordered coffee & cake and turned on their laptops to read. Book Cafe really attracted an 'intellectual' crowd on an weekend afternoon. The food was pretty nice. The all day breakfast set came with bacon, hashbrown, eggs, toasted bread (about $12) and enjoyed the fragrant coffee (about $5). If you are bored in the Book Cafe, one could just pick up a book or magazine lying around the shelves. Pretty good day!

Soho Coffee

Image
Soho Coffee is a new coffee place at Hill Street area (Loke Yew Street corner - near to the Peranakan Museum). The Soho Coffee place is a very relaxing place. Mrupupup ordered the cafe latte ($5) and green tea latte (very nice flavour - $6.50). Mrupupup loved the music, the ambience and lovely service. Mrupupup also enjoyed the decor of black and white photos along the wall.  Overheard at the next table conversation among three ladies in Soho Coffee : "Wah, this place totally relaxes me with nice coffee and beautiful jazz tunes in the store." Indeed, Soho Coffee place is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon and the place is not too crowded - loved the quietness. Do take note, the place closes early at around 6pm and serve western food dishes also. Enjoy the cuppa of latte!

Highlander Coffee Place

Image
Highlander Coffee at 49 Kampong Bahru Road is really getting more busy nowadays. Mrupupup visited Highlander Coffee and the place was packed with many people. Mrupupup thinks the Singapore drinking culture has picked up strongly. Well, Mrupupup had a Tiramisu Coffee which was very nice and the coffee was served with a pretty self-made leaf motif on the drink. Mrupupup likes the Tiramisu coffee with a touch of tiramisu sweetness on the drink. Highlander Coffee conducts their coffee appreciation workshop on their premises, serves many types of coffee (example hazelnut, almond flavours)and sandwiches/cakes/pastries. The place is not easy to locate and the nearest train station is Outram. Check out the photos.
