Mrupupup just happened to be at Haig Road Hawker Centre and saw this shop that sells baking materials. Gim Hin Lee, also branded as Bake King, sells baking supplies. Mrupupup first time entered such a shop which is located at Blk 10 Haig Road near to the hawker centre. Mrupupup saw a wide selection of baking supplies: wedding couple figures those placed onto of a cake, chocolate sauce, mini dinosaurs, chunks of chocolate for cooking, special baking cups, flour and colouring for the cakes. Very interesting place and think would not be too expensive to shop for baking supplies since the shop is located at a HDB void deck. Ok, let's go baking!  

Mrupupup just found a cheap place to eat at Changi Airport. One can go to the staff canteen of Changi Airport located at Terminal 2 Changi Airport (open till 9pm daily). Although there are two different pricing for staff and members of public, it was still cheaper then eating at the restaurants in Changi Airport. Mrupupup was really wowed by the pricing of the food stalls in the staff canteen in Terminal 2. Well, Mrupupup decided to try out the Wild Olives Western Cuisine that sells western food like grilled fish, pasta and salads. The stall even sells grilled catfish which was sold out for the day. Mrupupup ordered the pasta with clams ($4.50) and their chicken chop with sides like mushroom rice and salad ($5.80). The two tasted dishes were pretty good, fulfilling (very full stomach!) and it was much cheaper than in the Changi Airport dining area.  Ok, Mrupupup is coming back to this stall to try out their grilled catfish! Mrupupup went to the Miyazaki Fair @ Isetan Scotts Road (Singapore) Basement Level, 23 Aug to 2 Sep 2012. The Japanese sells many food items from special rice, Japanese ice cream (very nice!), plums, sweet potato, snacks and cakes and many more! Go and see the fair or you can take a look at the pictures below. Mrupupup bought their milk ice cream and taste very nice and unique! The prices for the Japanese food items are at a discount. If you are familiar with Japanese shopping mall, you can do some trying before you buy. Anyway, have fun and do take note not to go to the fair too late for they close early at 7pm daily till 2 Sept 2012.

Mrupupup went to the China Square Central Flea Market. The shopping centre is near to Chinatown and at the junction of Cross Street and South Bridge Road. Mr Upupup was totally amazed at the 60 plus stores selling mostly collectibles, lots of toys, antiques, posters, clothes, watches and many interesting stuff. If you happen to be in the Chinatown area, do take a walk to the China Square Central on a Sunday morning. The place was buzzing with activity from 11am onwards with many people trading and buying cheap/value for money stuff. Mrupupup was totally amazed at the varied toy collections and the flea market was like a popular toys trading arena. Mrupupup never knew the World Wrestling dolls were very hot toys - selling at $15 a piece! Do check out China Square Central on a Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Serangoon Gardens Bakery and Confectionery is famous and located in the Serangoon Gardens Market and Food Centre (store 45). The bakery is the only shop selling bread and you can see the long line of customers. It is interesting that the bakery sells very traditional bread, unlike the modern breads found in shopping centres. Traditional breads like luncheon meat bread, ham and cheese, sambal bread, kaya bread, and many kinds. All the breads costs less than $1, pretty cheap. The bread are nice and warm which is important. Mrupupup bought the tuna bread and luncheon meat bread. All very nice! Mrupupup should have bought more bread and save some money for breakfast. Good value for money!

Hakka Yong Tau Fu stall at Ghim Moh Hawker Centre #01-14 is very busy during lunch time. The stall sells traditional Hakka Yong Tau Fu pieces. The Yong Tau Fu pieces are fried and can have bean curd, egg, eggplant, pig's intestines, fish ball, yam, and many more. This Yong Tau Fu stall is very nice and have your Yong Tau Fu items with bee hoon or rice. It is their home receipe and their friendly staff that makes people want to come back for more. Took some pictures below and do try. The food is not expensive and value for money. A bowl of Hakka Yong Tau Fu will costs $2.50-$4 depending on what one orders for their meal. Take note the store normally sells out by 1.30pm.

Today Mrupupup discovered the Macdonalds Mcbites promotion valid at Singapore's Macdonalds outlets except for some outlets. Going to attach a coupon below this blog post and show this coupon on your handphone/laptop/ipad/tablet or do a print out to get the Mcbites at $1.50. Hope not too late - the McBites coupon will last till 15 July 2012. Macdonalds Chicken McBites is a nice snack, kind of like chicken nuggets but very small in size. Fatty Cheong store at Blk 6 Jalan Bukit Merah #01-120, ABC Hawker Centre Singapore (near to Ikea Bukit Merah) serves very nice char siew, roast pork, roast duck and char siew noodles. The char siew meat and roast duck are very juicy and tender while the roast pork had a very 'crispy' skin layer on the meat. The meats come with a sweet dark sauce. Very nice, 'sinful' meaty food and very long line of people waiting for their food during meal times. Can easily identify Fatty Cheong because of the long line of eager people waiting to order the roast pork, char siew or roast duck. Fatty Cheong is in a local hawker centre and it will costs $3-4 per plate (with rice) for the roast meats - not too expensive to enjoy nice char siew/ roast meats (can save some money).
