Had an interesting time at the Japanese summer fiesta at Japanese international school in Singapore. Ladies and men were wearing yukata to the fiesta. Stalls were selling interesting stuff at low prices. Interesting to note that there is such a fiesta in sunny Singapore.

Went to Zhu Hai (in China) and Macau. The two areas are close to each other. One can just walk across the immigration and you would reach the other side. Apparently, many Chinese just walk across to Macau from Zhu Hai to indugle in gambling in Macau. Do get ready to fill up many immigrations cards and have many chops on your passport if you like to travel both areas on the same day (which is possible). With the two territories so nearby, one can use Chinese Yuan, Hong Kong Dollar and Macau Patacas for their daily transactions. All the 3 currencies are equivalent in value to each other. You can use PutongHua (Mandarin), Portuguese, English or Cantonese (Chinese dialect) to speak to the locals there. There are at least 28 casinos in Macau from the grand outfit like Venetian Macau to the small gambling complex. With the casinos, there exists almost side by side the pawn shops where people pawn away their valuables to gamble. I am more interested in the cultural aspects of the trip,

Well, the movie literally means cowboys fighting against aliens from outer space. Cowboys and the Red Indians work together using small guns and ropes to save their people from the evil aliens. The aliens look like they came from previous movie like Aliens and Predators. If not for the star actors like Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford, the movie is ordinary. Daniel Craig looks cool like himself in the James Bond movies. As one would have guess it, the Cowboys won over the Aliens, very predictable plot.

Went to the National Day Parade 2011 at the Floating Platform on 9 August 2011. First time witnessing the Parade live. The show was smooth.
