Heaven's Indian Curry Food Stall in Ghim Moh

Image
Mrupupup visited the Heaven's Indian Curry Food Stall in Ghim Moh Hawker Centre (stall 15). The place sells very nice masala thosai (soft type of pancake), appam (South Indian snack), vadai (fried snack) and putu mayam (another Indian snack). Heaven's Indian Curry makes the appam and masala thosai on the spot and it is fresh. The masala thosai is spicy and need to cool down with a nice cup of tea. Appam is very nice and soft and excellent with the brown sugar. If you want decent Indian food, you can go to Ghim Moh Hawker Centre and look this store. The store sells many types of thosai and other Indian food - not too expensive prices.

Baskin Robbins Ice Cream in Singapore

Image
Wooohooo. Mrupupup had a Baskin Robbins Ice Cream on their promotion day (Wednesday) at Nex Mall (Level-B1). Mrupupup needs any item that is pink in colour and one can get two scoops of ice cream for the price of one (one value and one junior scoop). Mrupupup had the macademia nuts and the strawberry cheesecake flavour. Woohoo, both flavours very nice, especially the strawberry cheesecake flavour with chewy cheese bits! Yummy and do check out their many flavours of ice cream from chocolate to vanilla to sorbets.

Arnold's Fried Chicken

Image
Arnold's Fried Chicken is a local brand serving fried chicken, fried spring chicken, potato platter, mashed potato and all things unhealthy. If you want to eat local 'version' of fried chicken (like KFC), you can try Arnold's Fried Chicken located at City Plaza Level #02-99. The fried chicken place had been around since 1984 and it was my first time there. Never knew of Arnold's Fried Chicken. Apparently, Arnold's Fried Chicken is very popular with our local crowd as the place was very busy during a weekday evening. Mrupupup had the whole Spring Chicken (Fried) and potato platter. The portions are quite big and the chicken was fried very nicely. It was finger licking good, and did enjoy getting messy and eating up the chicken.

Brave the Cartoon Movie - Premiere at the Cathay

Image
Thanks to Nuffnang Singapore. Mrupupup attended the Premiere of Cartoon Movie Brave (by Pixar) at the Cathay Singapore. The Movie Premiere was an interesting event with Wii Archery games, a bagpiper playing music, mini tug of war and photo taking booth where one can take pictures with the Brave movie characters. The movie was pretty good for a cartoon and was great because Mrupupup got to view it in 3D. Yeah! Go watch Brave the movie as the story unfolds of a young princess trying to save the Scottish kingdom from a witch's evil spell. Mrupupup loved the story line, the Scottish music and interesting 3D effects. Check out the photos of the premiere and take note the movie will open on 8 August 2012 in Singapore.

Serangoon Gardens Bakery and Confectionery

Image
Serangoon Gardens Bakery and Confectionery is famous and located in the Serangoon Gardens Market and Food Centre (store 45). The bakery is the only shop selling bread and you can see the long line of customers. It is interesting that the bakery sells very traditional bread, unlike the modern breads found in shopping centres. Traditional breads like luncheon meat bread, ham and cheese, sambal bread, kaya bread, and many kinds. All the breads costs less than $1, pretty cheap. The bread are nice and warm which is important. Mrupupup bought the tuna bread and luncheon meat bread. All very nice! Mrupupup should have bought more bread and save some money for breakfast. Good value for money!

Astons Express at Ghim Moh

Image
Astons Express at Ghim Moh is located at 19 Ghim Moh Road, Kopitiam Coffeeshop. Astons is well known for serving good western food through their various outlets in many parts of Singapore. Mrupupup tried out the Ghim Moh outlet and had their lemon lime chicken with mashed potato and pasta salad. The Astons meal was nice and loved the presentation of the food. Well, as Astons prepares the food only when you order, one got to wait for at least 15 minutes. Lemon lime chicken with mashed potato and pasta salad worke for Mrupupup. There are many combinations with fish, chicken, steak and combine with corn, potato salad, onion rings, french fries, vegetables... Enjoy the photos of Astons' Lemon Lime Chicken.

Fong Kee Delicacies

Image
Fong Kee Delicacies serves up traditional chinese food. Mrupupup visited the store (Stall 12) at Serangoon Garden Market and Food Centre for their Rice Cake dish and Zha Jiang mee. The Rice Cake (nian gao) is a plain and simple dish with cabbage and lean pork meat, good if you want a simple fare in your tummy. Zha Jiang mee is a slightly salty dish with a brown sauce and minced pork meat, pretty nice and with much flavour. Check out the photos.
