Vocaluptuous Sings for Christmas 2012

Image
Vocaluptuous is one of Mrupupup's favourite acapella singing groups in Singapore. When Christmas comes along in Singapore, you could find Vocaluptuous team singing Christmas songs in one of Singapore's shopping centre. The acapella group sang very well in Paragon Shopping Centre located along Orchard Road over the weekend. Apparently, the group had a new addition to the team, a 19 year old boy named Kai that performed 'beatbox' type of sounds for the group (sound great!). Mrupupup always found it amazing that 6 guys and one girl could sing so well together in one harmony and with much passion. Great job, Vocaluptuous!

Sun with Moon Japanese Dining

Image
Considered an exquisite Japanese restaurant, Sun with Moon Japanese Dining & Cafe served excellent Japanese dishes. Mrupupup tried out the Sun With Moon at Wheelock Place (501 Orchard Road, #03-15). Mrupupup just felt happy trying Sun with Moon for dinner. Mrupupup had the mango sushi - super nice ($6.80 for 4 pieces), avocado salmon salad ($9.80) (Mrupupup only eats this expensive salad in town), and their signature seafood Kamameshi  ($21) and Salmon K amameshi ($16.90) . Kamameshi is a form of steam rice cooked with ingredients like chicken, salmon, sea weed, chestnuts and other ingredients in a wooden pot which captured the flavours. Just loved the taste of Kamameshi rice. The food was very nice and the place was buzzing with many people. Everybody came to enjoy good Japanese food. Take note one might need to queue for half an hour to one hour for seats during their peak hours (likely dinner time). Well, got to wait patiently for yummy food. Mrupupup see the food and just want

Christmas Concert in the Esplanade

Image
Mrupupup attended the Christmas Concert in the Esplanade Singapore. The Esplanade is really one piece of interesting architecture. The building has a nice 'durian' shape. The interior of the Esplanade was excellent for having a Christmas Concert. The Christmas Concert was by the Singapore Symphonic Orchestra and was accompanied by two choirs. The orchestra played common Christmas songs and classical pieces which were very beautiful to Mrupupup's ears. Mrupupup loved the music played out in the Esplanade Concert Hall. Mrupupup had the particular favourite of the Little Drummer Boy, really beautiful with the constant drumming beat. Enjoyed the music at the Esplanade Concert Hall.   Merry Christmas to Mrupupup's readers!

Haramiya Japanese BBQ Meat

Image
Haramiya Japanese BBQ served very nice BBQ meats. Mrupupup went to Haramiya located at Central #03-87 (Clarke Quay MRT station). Wow, Mrupupup totally enjoyed the experience of cooking the meats over the hot stove! Mrupupup tried the beef set ($17.80) and the pork set ($14.80). Both came with sides of toufu, vegetables, sweet jelly & fruit dessert and salad. The meats were well marinated and tasted very nice after the BBQ. Mrupupup also BBQ onions and carrots. Mrupupup preferred the pork for it tasted like 'bak kwa' BBQ meats. Take note the fire from the stove could be very hot and surely did warmed up Mrupupup's face. Really fun to BBQ and enjoyed the meats! Haramiya also serves Korean dishes. Think better go during lunch for the sets are cheaper. Mrupupup may want to go to Haramiya again!

Sapporo Ramen Miharu Japanese Ramen

Image
Mrupupup enjoyed one of the better Japanese ramen in Singapore. Located at the ground floor of Gallery Hotel (tuck in a corner) in Robertson Quay area along 1 Nanson Road. The Sapporo Ramen Miharu Store sells very nice Japanese ramen and the staff were friendly.  The Japanese ramen was good and the noodles very springy. Mrupupup loved the big piece of char siew pork and the half boiled egg in the ramen. The noodle soup came with items like corn and mushrooms. Mrupupup got to sit on a Japanese style table with a hole in the centre.  Mrupupup also had a plate of pork meat gyoza dunplings with perilla leaf ,which make the dumplings more fragrant- pretty good and yummy. Mrupupup ordered the Tokusen Miso based Japanese ramen (menu item no.1) about $13.80 and the dumpling (gyoza) with perilla leaf about $6.50. Very nice place to have Japanese ramen and do take note of the queue during weekends. Do finish up the ramen soup if you are there for it takes hours to boil the soup. Yummmyssss!

Canton Paradise at Star Vista

Image
Mrupupup went to the Canton Paradise at Star Vista Shopping Mall (near to Buona Vista Train station) and felt like in 'paradise' for the Chinese food the place served. Mrupupup had very nice egg custard buns, dim sum, Chinese pastries, and good wanton noodles. Canton Paradise served up good Chinese food. The egg custard bun was oozing out with yellow century-egg yolk and was very hot! Mrupupup ate the bun very delicately. For the Char Siew pastries, it was soft and need to slowly eat the char siew pastry bit by bit. The wanton noodles soup dish was their signature dish. The noodles was freshly made and the wanton were made with prawns. The noodle soup base was nice and was a light meal so as to leave some room for the custard buns and dim sum pastries. More Chinese Dim Sum please from Canton Paradise! Yummsss!
