Restaurant Andre Singapore - High End Dining
Mrupupup won the privilege to dine at the very best dining place in Singapore - Restaurant Andre. This very high end dining place is located at 41 Bukit Pasoh (a single shophouse next to New Majestic Hotel - in Chinatown area). Mrupupup won the 'most liked' photograph contest at the DBS Marina Regatta 2013 and would like to thank the sponsor of the prize (DBS) for allowing Mrupupup to have a dinner meal for two at $298 ++ per person (ultra high end!).
Restaurant Andre is one of the premier restaurant in the world and ranked among the top 50 dining places (ranked #38 in 2013 http://restaurantandre.com/accolades/ ). Art and philosophy play important roles in Chef Andre Chang's dinner dishes. For the dinner meal, the dishes came in eight 'octaphilosophy': pure, salt, artisan, south, texture, unique, memory and terrior. Besides excellent food dishes coming in an art form, Restaurant Andre has one of the best service staff in Singapore. The service staff welcomed Mrupupup at the front door, explained every single dish that came and were attentive to Mrupupup's needs. As explained by Chef Andre who came by to speak to every person in the small 30 seater restaurant, it was not how good the food was but how well you enjoyed the experience of dining at his restaurant. Mrupupup truly enjoyed the warm atmosphere, friendly service staff, wonderful artistic dishes, nice soothing music and art deco. MrUpUpUp felt very relaxed & happy and savoured every morsel of food on the plate.

Starter - Fish and Chips with 'Soil'
'Soil' consists of dehydrated chocolate, wheat and garlic - very nice! Mrupupup's Favourite!
Starter - Crispy chicken skin

First dish - Pure
Deconstructed dish- with herbs, abalone, mussels, herbal sauce, tomato sauce, berries, many items
2nd dish- Salt represented by an oyster with tiny green sea grapes with berries, seaweed
& sweet foam of a Granny Smith apple
3rd dish- Artisan with mushroom, cheese and various farmer's produce
Yummy bread with home made butter - very nice
4th Dish - South - with fish and rice as base
4th Dish - South - lots of fish - tuna, salmon with delicate amounts of herbs & fruit
5th Dish- Texture
Excellent taste: sweet blue lobster meat with herbs & truffle oil!
Dish 6- Unique.
With japanese fish, scallop and foam
Dish 7 - Memory- Mrupupup's favourite
Foie Gras jelly (goose liver) with truffle on top
Dish 8- Terroir
Cuts of beef (very tender) with pumpkin sauce & onions
Pre-dessert - Ice cream with berries
Pre-dessert: Snickers bar 'deconstructed' to its elements
Dessert: Popsicle, Mashmellow, delectable chocolate
Excellent coffee (80% arabica beans & 20% robusta beans)
served in a special artistic cup with a small to hold the cup
