The Cornerstone Cafe at Bishan Park

Image
Mrupupup went to Cornerstone CafĂ© for Brunch. The eating place is located at Bishan Park 2 (the one with the Macdonalds). The Cornerstone offers a large place for people to gather to have brunch. Brunch consisted of slices of roast beef, ham, squid, tuna in tiny cute cones, lobster pasta in a spoon and the wonderful desserts. Wow, the desserts were the nice part! Cornerstone had marsh mellow with sweet sauces, wonderful cakes, tiny cups with sweet things, cookies, many wonderdul things which Mrupupup had recorded on pictures. Yummys!!!!! Mrupupup loved to eat! If you have dogs, the Cornerstone is dog friendly, Mrupupup saw large dogs and small dogs and even a nice cat enjoying the sunny day! Very nice place for a weekend brunch! OK, attached below their burger and soups. Yummy!

Nine Thirty by Awfully Chocolate at Esplanade

Image
Nine Thirty (former Loola's) by Awfully Chocolate at the Esplanade Mall (#02-14) has revamped to be a cool place to eat Western food and of course their hot chocolate. The new menu options looks good but a bit on the high side in terms of price. The service was good though! Mrupupup started with the mushroom soup which was delicious and creamy. Best part was to dip the toasted bread into the soup - nice. Next Mrupupup tried the bread type of food with an egg and baked ham pieces on top with sides like chips, olives and onions. Wow, really filling! Really an 'all day breakfast' type of food. The bread was toasted and such a huge piece!   Mrupupup also tried their fish and chips which was yummy but oily. Next item was their pancakes which looked like 'Macdonald's' pancakes. Pancake was fluffy soft and bit too sweet with the syrup. Mrupupup also had a bit of honey baked ham with a huge baked apple. Pretty well done and easy to eat. Pretty g

Jamie Oliver's Italian Restaurant in Singapore Vivocity

Image
Jamie's Italian Restaurant opened in Vivocity Singapore (1 Harbourfront Walk). This restaurant is opened by the famous Jamie Oliver, British Chef that cooks Italian dishes on TV. As Mrupupup is big foodie, so must try Jamie's Restaurant, first in Asia.  The new restaurant offered Italian dishes such as salads, breads, pasta and antipasta. The pasta noodles are made on site daily and using fine fresh produce. The place had an open kitchen and alfresco dining area. Mrupupup went in without early booking for a seat at the restaurant. The staff said 45 minutes on a weekday evening 7.30pm! Super long wait!  Mrupupup saw the waiting list, at least 10 reservations more for the evening. As Mrupupup was about to leave at the 15 minute mark at their waiting area because could not wait anymore, suddenly the waiter said ok ok go ahead! Wow, Mrupupup wondered that evening that this was a delay tactic or marketing gimmick to make people wait so as to feel more hungry for a chance to eat

Prices: Range beef cuts like skirt cut of about $19 to high end range of beef steaks of $100 and alos got burgers, desserts and drinks Mrupupup had Hanger Steak ($20 estimate) and their BBQ ribs ($20 estimate). The beef steak was very juicy, tender and some blood still oozing out (order medium done). The ribs was very nice and ask for extra BBQ sauce. Eatery's selling point is its wide range of beef cuts at affordable prices. Because the restaurant is located along a rather quiet stretch on the ground floor of Marina Square Shopping Mall, it offers an "al fresco" dining area alongside the pedestrian walkway as well as seating in the inner chambers which offer more privacy. Jollibee ChickenJoy in Singapore

Image
Mrupupup on one fine weekday evening walked to Jollibee to try out their popular chicken and other fast food items on the menu. The Jollibee Singapore is located at Lucky Plaza #06-048A (at Orchard Road). Ok, the queue was crazy but not as crazy as it first opened. Mrupupup queued for about half an hour during that evening. This Jollibee Singapore outlet is said to be the busiest outlet in the world. Jollibee is from Philippines and has established over 800 outlets in the world. Well, the food seems appealing to everybody. Mrupupup tried the ChickenJoy consisting of two pieces of chicken, pack of rice and potato sauce ($6 plus), spaghetti (apparently it is quite famous and popular) about $4. Both food items came with a soft drink. The chicken was good, tender and not too oily (like KFC) and quite juicy. Mrupupup also first time tried chicken meat with rice, normally eat chicken with french fries or mashed potato. The spaghetti was interestingly sweet and nice but the portion was quit
