What would make a perfect weekend?

Honestly, everyday can be a good weekend when you are doing things that you love. So, what do you love to do? Sports, painting, reading, movies, cycling, table tennis?           You have just got to live your life and decide the time to spend on doing what you WANT to do, rather than what you HAVE to do. Every day can be the perfect weekend if you MAKE it so.

District 10 Bar & Grill Suntec City Singapore

Image
Mrupupup had a nice time at District 10 Bar & Grill at Suntec City Tower 2 Singapore (near to the taxi stand at the ground floor). District 10 serves great food at decent prices. Mrupupup tasted a variety of wines from the Italian Zonin Wines - red wine, white wine and dessert wines. Mrupupup loved the slowly roasted beef and is their signature dish. The beef was awesome and so juicy. Apparently, the special beef sat in an aeroplane, exported to Singapore, placed in a fridge (imported from Italy at the cost of $22,000!) and dry aged. Very nice beef! The Italian chef also prepared for the group a special pasta with duck meat. Very refined food with excellent Italian touches. Reminded me of Mrupupup's recent trip to Italy. The dessert served was also excellent. The berry tart dessert was served with generous portions of gold on top of the berry tart. Enjoyed the wines during the night. District 10 Grill & Bar is a cosy place. Mrupupup loved the one thing for the nig

Arashi Shabu Shabu City Square Johor Bahru

Image
Mrupupup went to dine at the Arashi City Square Mall Johor Bahru (basement level near to Nando's), Malaysia. Pretty good meal. Enjoyed the personalised steamboat. Mrupupup had the seafood and meat steamboat - about Malaysia Ringgit $28. Just placed the salmon, chicken, vegetables, mushroom, beef slices, meat balls and wait for the stuff to cook. Pretty fast to cook also. Do dip the cooked items with their special sauces. Very nice and healthy meal. Mrupupup's friend had a separate Japanese style cooked meat which was yummy too. Had a nice meal with friends and the Arsahi 's service was pretty quick and good. Do check out the menu for various steamboats and stir fry meals. Prices range from Ringgit $20 onwards.

Watanabe Coffee Singapore - Japanese Cafe in Orchard Road

Image
Watanabe Coffee place is a Japanese theme café with Japanese style coffee and desserts. If you like matcha 'green tea' stuff, well this is the place to enjoy matcha and plenty of desserts. Watanabe Coffee opened at Shaw Centre Orchard Road on the ground floor, just next to Isetan Scotts. The place also sells spaghetti, matcha pudding, ice cream, matcha parfait and Shibuya bread toast. Mrupupup ordered the Japanese matcha green tea latte and their swiss roll filled with coffee and caramel. Both orders came up to about $15. The cake and green tea latte were alright. Quite expensive for dessert and coffee, but you are in Orchard Road so expect prices to be steep. Watanabe Café décor looks like a warehouse. Do take note the place gets crowded and try your best not to sit under the spotlights which made Mrupupup hot and uncomfortable in the café. The spotlights were located at one corner of the café. Super bright spotlights! Anyway, enjoy your day at Watanabe Café and enjoy list

Mrupupup was invited to attend the great concert by J-pop Queen Koda Kumi at Scape Orchard (yeah 1 night performance only). Part of Koda Kumi's Asia Live tour of Asian venues, Koda Kumi delivered her concert with much power, high energy and she sang many beautiful Japanese songs. Mrupupup loved her voice in her slower songs like "Walk of My Life" - her latest song. Great night of music and got many Japanese fans in Singapore. Singapore was only one of the two venues in Asia as part of her tour (the other in Taiwan). Her powerful voice and all action dance.Wow! Koda Kumi!                   Live Koda Kumi in Singapore - Powerful

Orchestra of the Music Makers Mega-Concert for SG50 Gustav Mahler’s 8th Symphony

Image
Mrupupup attended Singapore’s Orchestra of the Music Makers (OMM) concert, performing one of the most ambitious pieces of classical music, Gustav Mahler’s 8th Symphony or “Symphony of a Thousand”, live in Singapore as a tribute to SG50. Great performance and even got "Majullah Singapore" (National Anthem of Singapore) as a final encore. Thanks to organisers for sponsored tickets - 11 July 15 concert.   Featuring no less than eight local and international vocal soloists, four large choirs (including three from Australia), a children’s choir, large symphony orchestra, separate brass ensemble and an organ, this is only the second time the symphony performed in Singapore’s history.     The monumental piece started with a medieval Pentecost hymn and culminated in the closing scene of Goethe’s Faust, drawing together fundamental philosophical ideas of Western history. Mahler wrote this immensely moving and spectacular symphony as a “gift to the entire nation” for his bel
