Sushi Express at Citylink

Image
Mrupupup first time tried out Sushi Express (food chain originated from Taiwan) located at Citylink Mall (#B1-23 - near to adidas sports store), Singapore. Why first time? Because the queue is very long! That friday evening- Mrupupup got to brave the queue for 45 minutes and find out why the place was so popular. Mrupupup could find two reasons for Sushi Express's popularity - cheap and decent sushi & sashimi. Where to find in Singapore $1.50 plates for all Japanese conveyor belt food?  Sushi Express had salmon sashimi, sushi of various types and many more..... All the dishes at $1.50 per plate (excluding service charges). Mrupupup just ate about 15 plates of sushi express! Too much salmon in Mrupupup's belly, burp! Nice prawn sashimi - quite sweet & fresh All Sushi at $1.50 Conveyor belt sushi Look at the pinkish fresh salmon Rows of salmon sushi - fresh on the conveyor belt Full house @ Sushi Express

Image
Peony Jade at Keppel Club (Bukit Chermin Road) exudes an old style Chinese restaurant with lovely red lanterns adorning the restaurant. Peony Jade is an award winning restaurant with excellent food. Mrupupup went for the first time to Peony Jade for a wedding dinner. Very good food! The roast duck with white flower buns was their no. 1 dish, really excellent! Anyway, let Mrupupup give a breakdown of each dish served at the wedding dinner. While writing this blog post, Mrupupup's stomach was feeling HUNGRY!!!! Oh no, could Mrupupup turn back the clock? Yummmmy!   First dish - multi dishes: squid, chicken, melon salad, jellyfish, rolls, mushrooms     2nd dish: Wasabi prawns and Egg yolk prawns (wow!)   Prefer the wasabi prawns- limit to one prawn from each side     Love the red lanterns   4th dish: Shark fin soup (big chunks of shark fin). If you are an environmentalist, you would not eat! Yummy!   5th dish: Fish done very well with no bones

Pasta De Waraku @ Changi Airport

Image
Yummy. Pasta de Waraku serves up Western style food with a nice Japanese touch. Mrupupup went to the Pasta De Waraku branch at Changi Aiport Terminal 2. Mrupupup enjoyed a very nice thin crusted pizza filled with crab roe and potato (about $14) & duck pasta (about $15). Pasta De Waraku has many choices for pasta and pizza. You could take a pick of your favorite just by looking at the plastic version of the food dish. Pasta De Waraku staff were very attentive. The waiters were quick and served Mrupupup well. Pretty good! Very nice pizza - hmmmm! the duck was delicious!

Youtube Fan Fest 2013 in Singapore

Image
Mrupupup was invited to attend the Youtube Fan Fest 2013 held in Ritz Carlton Hotel Singapore Ballroom last week. It was really fun to see and hear from the Youtube Stars. Loved the beatbox from Hikakin, Rap music from Namewee, singing from David Choi and Steph Micalye (a local Singapore Youtube singer). There were also appearances from Youtube stars that do funny videos, cooking show by a Japanese lady with a dog by her side and a duo that did car modifications video. The Youtube Fan Fest was really an eye-opener. Youtube stars were really cool people and they have the talent to do their 'thing' on video and post it on Youtube. Mrupupup personal favourites were Hikakin (Japnese beatbox star) doing Beethoven music using only his voice and Namewee with his multi language rap music (he even rapped in Cantonese and Thai!). Really good event, I am a fan of Youtube - do check out the Youtube videos below. Steph Micalye David Choi Namewee Crazy Fans
