Singapore is the top place to visit in 2015 by Lonely Planet

Image
Wow, Singapore is the top place to visit in 2015 as nominated by the Lonely Planet. Guess - Mrupupup knows why - because Singapore celebrates its 50th birthday next year in 2015. There will be many celebrations and parties to attend to remember a small red dot on the map as Singapore survived for 50 years in the world stage. Impressive small little country. There are many things to do in Singapore. The country has 'quirky' attractions like the Singapore Gardens by the Bay (the expensive Gardens with two cool conservatories), multi-culture and many religions in harmony with each other. The Sports Hub attracting big sports events. However, Mrupupup hopes that the Sports Hub fixes the sandy field in the stadium. There many sporting events to look forward like the Southeast Asian Games. Singapore is 50 years old. Time to celebrate and remember the progress the country made.

Street Art in Singapore China Square Central

Image
Mrupupup found the latest string of street arts in Singapore. The below art pieces painted on the walls of buildings are colourful and reflects Singapore's past. The street art can be found along the China Square Central area - 3 Pickering Street (Nankin Row area). Enjoy the street art!

Street Art in Penang Malaysia

Image
Mrupupup recently went to Penang Malaysia. Well, for Mrupupup, the street art painted on the walls of Penang's historic Georgetown was something quite fascinating. Georgetown in Penang is an UNESCO heritage site filled with very nice old houses and small alleys that came with surprises of interesting street art. The street art in Georgetown made Mrupupup happy for it shows that art could liven up the place and brings an interesting perspective to life. Go to the historic Georgetown and find the street art in lanes like Armenian Street, Chulia Street, Love Lane, and some other streets! It would be fun to do that in Penang! And take many cool pictures! Who want some buns?   Look out for the mouse!       Mrupupup's favourite - of the mouse hiding from the big cat!

Trick Eye Museum Singapore at RWS Sentosa

Image
Mrupupup had a great time in Trick Eye Museum located at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS). There were so many interesting 3D art on display at the Trick Eye Museum. The Trick Eye Museum is located near to the Malaysian Food Court and Astons at RWS Sentosa. Entrance fee costs about $25 for adult. If your want to go to Trick Eye museum, do bring a great camera and take all the weird photos. Mrupupup had great fun and took several photos of people having fun! Thanks Trick Eye Museum Singapore for the free preview of the place!   Fiery Inferno, Help, Help!!     Oh no! Where is my Head gone??? Scary ??     I am an Angel and I can fly and take a selfie!     Scream!!     Hold steady- Trick Eye!

Chunk Fest 2014 Singapore by Ben & Jerry's

Image
Mrupupup was invited to attend the Chunk Fest 2014 by Ben & Jerry's held in the Gardens by the Bay Singapore (Meadow area). Ok, Mrupupup went to the Chunk Fest to eat lots of Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Mrupupup had about 6 cups of ice cream of various flavours. The Chunk Fest was great fun with lots of games, movie screening and social enterprise marketplace stores selling many unique stuff to help the less privileged in our society!  Thanks Ben and Jerry's for Chunk Fest 2014 Singapore!         Mrupupup ate so many cups of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream!

Young Colugo Animal Saw in Singapore

Image
Mrupupup was so excited that a young Colugo animal was spotted among the trees in Lower Pierce Reservoir park in Singapore. This colugo animal is pretty hard to spot in Singapore and it is considered 'vulnerable'. Well, it was a lucky day to spot such a mammal! The Colugo is a gliding mammal found in the South East Asia jungles. This nocturnal animal glides at night with its flying wings. The one Mrupupup saw was a young colugo and it had brown fur. The young colugo was about the size of big squirrel. Adult colugo has a greyish coat. The mammal is related closely to primates. Very exciting. Please see the best photograph below of the Colugo (taken by Mrupupup!).

Everything with Fries at Bugis Junction EwF

Image
Mrupupup goes once in a while to Everything with Fries (EwF). You know what Mrupupup likes at EwF - it is their awesome Nutella Shake! The Nutella Shake is very, very nice. The thick smooth nutella taste just slides the drink into your mouth, Yummy! Oh, one more thing, EwF adds Oreo cookie bits on top of the Nutella Shake, just so good.   The other items ate at EwF were the juicy burgers. Mrupupup tried the lamb burger and the mushroom burgers. Both burgers came with EwF signature thick fries which had toppings like sour cream. The Mushroom Burger was good with the yummy mushrooms inside the burger. The lamb burger was not bad but was a bit dry in taste.   Last time, EwF used to ok with their pricing. Now, dining at the EwF outlet in Bugis Junction #04-05 (next to the movie theatre) would not be cheap. The burgers range from $13 to $18 depending on the type of burger you like. The Nutella shake costs about $8. I guess with high rental at shopping malls, the food prices would

Spruce at 320 Tanglin Road - Breakfast Yummy

Image
Mrupupup had a yummy western style breakfast at Spruce located at 320 Tanglin Road (near to foreign embassy area and Crescents' Girl School). Spruce is nice restaurant with interesting photographs. Loved the photographs which brings a little class to the eating place. The photographs made Mrupupup want to visit the country like Myammar. Spruce has friendly waiters and the feel of the place was cosy and nice! The breakfast was yummy sausages with scrambled eggs. Totally delicious! Loved the apple juice that went well with sausages. The awesome toasted bagels were great with juicy fat sausages and smoked salmon on offer. Mrupupup loved bagels especially with lots of cream cheese! The morning weekend spent at Spruce definitely spruced up the weekend mood! Burps!       Awesome Bagels!

Mercedes Benz E Class test drive

Image
Mercedes Benz E Class Test Drive was awesome! Mrupupup took the Mercedes Benz for a spin around the Tanglin area.  The test drive was smooth and powerful. The E Class is such a class act with intelligent control systems, automatic push button start engine, auto head rest mover, simple touch to signal directions, and press of two buttons just to start the car. The test drive was so smooth and comfortable. The nappa leather in the car was just great. The steering wheel was so simple to use and the car just flows with you. The current price in expensive "COE" Singapore $250,000 and can get $15,000 discount if you want to trade in your car. Minimum loan is $80,000 for a period of minimum period of 5 years and monthly instalment about $1,500. Black colour looks nice, the brown one which Mrupupup was driving looks good on a Mercedes Benz car! Do enjoy the Mercedes Benz E Class in your own way and the car is a class act. Very nice, Very nice car! The car really makes one happy

Wedding Banquet at TungLok Signatures located at Orchard Parade Hotel

Image
Mrupupup attended a wedding banquet at TungLok Signatures located at Orchard Parade Hotel. The wedding banquet venue at TungLok was the smaller venue with about 20 tables. Some tables were located in rooms which blocked the view of the bride and groom giving their thank you speech. The dishes served for the wedding banquet were pretty traditional fare: - Cold dish with about five items like jellyfish, duck meat, spring rolls, roast meat, prawns with melon - Shark's fin soup which came with lots of shark's fin (oh no! better don't tell those animal environmental nature protectors! - Scallops with broccoli (loved the big chunks of scallops) - Roasted chicken: seems like not roasted enough - Mushrooms with vegetables and sea cucumber which was good and yummy - Steamed fish which maybe a bit over cooked but nice - Yam rice which Mrupupup thought was not nice and not warm. Can skip this dish. - Dessert with Chinese red date, bird's nest and Aloe Vera which was the

Spuds And Aprons at Mount Faber

Image
Spuds and Aprons at the top of Mount Faber Singapore is a western restaurant opened at the cable car station - Mount Faber. Mrupupup loved to go to Spuds and Aprons just to have a meal with a good view overlooking the Keppel Bay area. Mrupupup tried out the pan fried salmon which came with lots of vegetables and special tangy sauce to make the salmon taste much better. The other dish Mrupupup was the linguine pasta with cream sauce and came with lots of mushrooms. Mrupupup preferred this mushroom creamy pasta over the salmon (which was a bit dry) and had a nice smooth taste to it. The cream sauce was the difference to the pasta. Spuds and Apron's best point would be the awesome view. Well, with the nice view meant the food would be a bit pricey (but it is manageable). The pasta and salmon dishes were within $15 - $25. Enjoy the meal and see the cable car coming up to its station at Mount Faber.

SET at POMO Comtemporary Value Set Meals

Image
Mrupupup went for a nice food session at SET located in POMO Mall at 1 Selegie Road #02-01 (next to TCC outlet). SET recently opened in August 2014 and the owners were formerly from TAO's eating place formerly located at POMO also. SET restaurant offers contemporary cuisine, and comes in set lunch and set dinner menu. Prices range from around $28.80++ for 5 course and $38.80++ for 6 course meal. Pretty good value for the 6 course set meal which came with chef starter dish, side dish, soup, cold dish, one main course and dessert. You have a choice of 3 to 5 items for main course, soup and dessert sections. Mrupupup had Chef Starter (which change regularly) of foie gras with red wine (pretty good!), cold dish of smoked duck, tomato caprese, Huai San Carpaccio (a kind of Chinese Yam), Salmon Gravlax. SET created fusion of Chinese and Western style to come up with the interesting cold dishes. Mrupupup liked the all the cold dishes. For the side dish, Mrupupup had the King Oyster
