MakeShake Milkshakes Singapore

Image
Mrupupup had a milkshake at MakeShake Singapore located at basement 2 of City Square Mall.  MakeShake is a customisable premium  milkshake  concept in  Singapore . Mrupupup had a chocolate oreo type of milkshake for around $3. Mrupupup just loved their quirky chairs and tables with lots of messages on having milkshake. The oreo milkshake was thick and nice. Woooo... the place has many flavours of milkshakes & frozen yoghurts. Mrupupup could keep on trying milkshakes for a long time. Yummys! Life seems better with a milkshake in hand.

Laurent Bernard Chocolatier at Robertson Quay

Image
Laurent  Bernard opened the French patisserie at  Robertson Quay  in 2006. This  Cafe &  Chocolate  Bar located along the Pier @  Robertson Quay  does pastries, cakes and  chocolates . Mrupupup had a chance to visit the place and it was crowded on a weekend. People just came into the store to order the chocolate drinks, ice cream and wonderful desserts. Mrupupup had a classic Vienna Hot Chocolate drink ($9) and their Black Forest Cake ($7.80). Wow, their Black Forest Cake was OOOmmmmmph! So nice! The Black Forest had a great outer layer of chocolate, wonderful tasting inner core of sweet cherries and oooomph ! The classic hot chocolate was very nice too with a bitter chocolate taste. Mrupupup also tasted two sweet chocolates pieces filled with nuts and orange. Wa! Mrupupup just enjoyed a nice 'chocolatey' weekend. Black Forest Cake Hot Chocolate Drink

Max Brenner Chocolate Shop

Image
Max Brenner Chocolate Shop serves very nice chocolate drinks. Mrupupup went to the 112 Katong branch (#01-05) of Max Brenner and had a hot chocolate drink (about $6-7). The taste of hot chocolate drink was full of flavour in the special Hug Mug and loved the taste of cocoa in the mouth. Very nice! Service was good and fast. This outlet was not very crowded during weekend evening time and Mrupupup just enjoyed the hot chocolate drink sip by sip. Very nice way to pass the evening and listening to people's conversations while they enjoyed the wonders of chocolate. Mrupupup saw a particular group of ladies pouring over hot chocolate on their lava cake. Just pure 'bliss' watching the hot chocolate melting in theirlava cake.... oooooooo very nice! Life is beautiful when there is chocolate!

Lao Ban Soya Beancurd dessert

Image
Lao Ban Soya Beancurd is the current soya bean curd craze in Singapore. Mrupupup often see people carrying boxes of this Lao Ban Soya Beancurd. Mrupupup managed to get two boxes at Old Airport Road Hawker Centre #01-127. Well, the bean curd looks smooth and tastes smooth. Lao Ban Bean curd is pretty nice. Can just use a spoon and scoop up the smooth bean curd into your mouth. Guess smooth bean curd is a popular dessert in Singapore, ever since the 'Diner en Blanc' saga, the high class picnic event along the Marina Bay Sands waterfront whereby people make their feelings known by purchasing boxes of beancurd to share and elevate bean curd to a popular status. Costs $1.50 per box for the original taste and $2 for the almond flavour. Luckily, got no queue for the Lao Ban beancurd that day, sometimes might have a long queue. Yummsss!

Grin Affair Dessert Shop

Image
Mrupupup visited this little dessert shop known as the 'Grin Affair' at 3 Everton Park, #01-77a (Everton Park HDB estate). Grin Affair serves cakes in little glass jars and comes in many flavours. Mrupupup tried out the chocolate and honey lavender berries cakes. Mrupupup likes that the shop tries to be environmentally friendly by using pretty glass jars and recycled paper. Check out the photos!

Ya Kun Kaya Toast

Image
Mrupupup felt that the Ya Kun Coffee and Kaya Toast is the best at Far East Square outlet, 18 China Street #01-01. Ya Kun at this outlet serves the toasted bread and coffee that tastes more authentic than the rest of the stores in Singapore. The Ya Kun store was super busy on a weekend morning. With such long history of making coffee and toasted bread (since 1944), there are many outlets of Ya Kun's in other countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia. Anyway, Mrupupup was at Ya Kun to have a nice cup of coffee and the kaya/butter toasted bread. Kaya is a coconut based jam spread and the ingredients that goes into making this spread is a closely guarded secret by Ya Kun's. It is weird that Mrupupup has cravings for toasted bread and coffee, espcially Ya Kun's. Took some pictures of the half boiled eggs, toasted bread and coffee. Very Nice! Enjoy the photos!

Sakon Thai: Mango & Durian Sticky Rice dessert

Image
Sakon Thai Food place at Jalan Wangi served up a very nice sticky rice dessert. The durian and mango versions of the traditional Thai dessert were done well at this Sakon Thai Restaurant! Yummy and sweet. The durian version slightly better than mango version. Anyway, both very nice. Mrupupup took a picture of the sticky rice, have a look and enjoy the picture!

Once Upon a Rosti and..... Milkshake

Image
Mrupupup visited the new food venture known as 'Once Upon a Rosti' at AXA Tower, Shenton Way, Basement 1-15. The shops sells the European pan fried potato food known as Rosti. The shop has an interesting name and is the same managment that brought us the food concept 'Once Upon a Milkshake' - which sells milkshake. The Rosti shop is nice and sells different types of rosti with sausages, bacon, eggs, ham, vegetables. If you ask Mrupupup, the shop served up pretty good rosti. After enjoying the rosti, Mrupupup later went to the nearby 'Once Upon a Milkshake' store at Maxwell Chambers (near to Tanjong Pagar MRT). Had a pretty good red velvert cake with ice cream (wah... very very nice cake and ice cream pairing!!) and very thick chocolate milkshake. By the way, Mrupupup had a receipt that showed that the server was Fairy Godmother - pretty cute (check out the photo below). Do visit these two stores in the evening for Shentown Way becomes much less busy. Good day an

Ritz Apple Strudel

Image
Ritz Apple Strudel has been in Singapore since 2000. Some people bought lots of Ritz strudel to share and MrUpUpUp would not resist food temptation (haha!). The Ritz strudel was very nice! Mr UpUpUp tried the mango, berry and apple flavours of the strudel. This strudel dessert snack has a nice sweet cripsy taste and one cannot stop at one helping of the snack. One bite and it's just foodie heaven! Just love the original apple strudel. Who can resist such crispy apple dessert snack? Yummydeliciousss! Ritz Apple strudel can be found at Sixth Avenue, North Bridge Road and Thomson area.

Wimbly Lu Chocolate Cafe - Yumz

Image
Wimbly Lu Chocolate Cafe is a nice refreshing cafe that serves chocolate drinks, coffee and wonderful desserts. Mrupupup visited the cafe located in Jalan Riang to have Mayan hot chocolate drink (vey thick chocolate drink with a tinge of spice), chai latte (mix of tea and coffee) and very nice cheesecake plus toffee sauce waffle. Really enjoyed the Wimbly Lu cafe and love the vibrant atmosphere. Love to take photos of the lovely desserts serve by the cafe. The cafe is located in the Braddell Heights private estate and might not be easy to locate. Nearest MRT station is Lorong Chuan along circle line or Serangoon station in NEL line.

Chocolate Origin - Chocolate Cakes!

Image
Oooomm. Loved chocolate cake! Went to this Chocolate Origin shop at basement food hall of 313@ Sommerset to buy their 'bitter' dark chocolate cake for A's birthday. Very nice cake, especially those chocolate lovers who like the bitter chocolate taste. Think their presentation is clean and neat for a chocolate cake shop. The shop also sells the original chocolate flavour cake (less bitter) and their smaller lava cake. Chocolate Origin has one other outlet in Changi Village. The Shop @ 313 Sommerset Original or Dark? Peek at the bitter chocolate cake Nice cake - Yums
