Image
Mrupupup went to dine at the Arashi City Square Mall Johor Bahru (basement level near to Nando's), Malaysia. Pretty good meal. Enjoyed the personalised steamboat. Mrupupup had the seafood and meat steamboat - about Malaysia Ringgit $28. Just placed the salmon, chicken, vegetables, mushroom, beef slices, meat balls and wait for the stuff to cook. Pretty fast to cook also. Do dip the cooked items with their special sauces. Very nice and healthy meal. Mrupupup's friend had a separate Japanese style cooked meat which was yummy too. Had a nice meal with friends and the Arsahi 's service was pretty quick and good. Do check out the menu for various steamboats and stir fry meals. Prices range from Ringgit $20 onwards.

Panasonic Cooking Workshop

Image
Mrupupup got invited to attend the Panasonic Cooking Workshop held at Panasonic in Bedok South area. The workshop was fun and learnt new trick for cooking. The cooking demonstration showed a lot of Panasonic cooking things like microwave oven, bread maker and blender, all useful for easy cooking at home. Good tips from the workshop: 1. Never use a metal plate/bowl in microwave oven which will cause sparks and spoil the microwave oven 2. Use yoghurt and milk plus fruits and mix in the blender to make a wonderful smoothie drink 3. You can cook an egg in the microwave oven by wrapping in aluminium foil and place the wrapped egg in a bowl of water to boil. Great day - enjoyed freshly made bread, buns, yam cake and nice herbal chicken. Thanks Panasonic and Channel U!

Mr Baguette -store that sells Baguette!

Image
I like Mr Baguette. Located at Golden Mile Hawker Centre, along Beach Road #B1-51 store number. As the name of the store implies, the humble store sells baguette (French bread cups but in smaller version) that are filled with different toppings like egg custard, red velvet, tiramisu and many flavours. The prices are reasonable about $1.50 to $1.80. The baguette bread came in a small bread cup, eat it slowly or you would get your mouth and even your nose stuff with the fillings (haha, mrupupup's nose got red velvet filling once). Mrupupup also bought Mr Baguette's garlic bread which was very crispy and nice. If you ask Mrupupup, the fillings with egg custard and red velvet were the most yummy! Eat the baguette while it is hot- super nice!

Westlake Restaurant Singapore

Image
Westlake Restaurant is one of the old-school restaurant in Singapore with lots of traditional Chinese dishes. Mrupupup was at Westlake over the weekday evening (please don't go on a weekend because got many people).  Food here is a pretty good especially its signature dish - Kong Bak Pau (braised pork with buns). Braised Pork with Pau ($13) was yummy!! Westlake is synonymous with Kong Bak Bao. Taste-wise, it was a yummy and 'melt in the mouth' pork meats with hot buns. The crisp lettuce was good to bland in the salty taste of the braised sauce and meats. Westlake Steamed Beancurd ($10) was an interesting find for dinner. Coins of smooth and plain beancurd were topped with a shrimp ball, dotted with a small amount of salted egg yolk, and in a starchy egg-drop gravy. This dish was done very well with a delicate and clear touch. Hokkien Mee in claypot ($7) was a value for money dish with lots of noodles and ingredients like squid, prawns and pork. Two persons took some tim

Everything with Fries at Bugis Junction EwF

Image
Mrupupup goes once in a while to Everything with Fries (EwF). You know what Mrupupup likes at EwF - it is their awesome Nutella Shake! The Nutella Shake is very, very nice. The thick smooth nutella taste just slides the drink into your mouth, Yummy! Oh, one more thing, EwF adds Oreo cookie bits on top of the Nutella Shake, just so good.   The other items ate at EwF were the juicy burgers. Mrupupup tried the lamb burger and the mushroom burgers. Both burgers came with EwF signature thick fries which had toppings like sour cream. The Mushroom Burger was good with the yummy mushrooms inside the burger. The lamb burger was not bad but was a bit dry in taste.   Last time, EwF used to ok with their pricing. Now, dining at the EwF outlet in Bugis Junction #04-05 (next to the movie theatre) would not be cheap. The burgers range from $13 to $18 depending on the type of burger you like. The Nutella shake costs about $8. I guess with high rental at shopping malls, the food prices would

Spruce at 320 Tanglin Road - Breakfast Yummy

Image
Mrupupup had a yummy western style breakfast at Spruce located at 320 Tanglin Road (near to foreign embassy area and Crescents' Girl School). Spruce is nice restaurant with interesting photographs. Loved the photographs which brings a little class to the eating place. The photographs made Mrupupup want to visit the country like Myammar. Spruce has friendly waiters and the feel of the place was cosy and nice! The breakfast was yummy sausages with scrambled eggs. Totally delicious! Loved the apple juice that went well with sausages. The awesome toasted bagels were great with juicy fat sausages and smoked salmon on offer. Mrupupup loved bagels especially with lots of cream cheese! The morning weekend spent at Spruce definitely spruced up the weekend mood! Burps!       Awesome Bagels!
