Watanabe Coffee Singapore - Japanese Cafe in Orchard Road

Image
Watanabe Coffee place is a Japanese theme cafĂ© with Japanese style coffee and desserts. If you like matcha 'green tea' stuff, well this is the place to enjoy matcha and plenty of desserts. Watanabe Coffee opened at Shaw Centre Orchard Road on the ground floor, just next to Isetan Scotts. The place also sells spaghetti, matcha pudding, ice cream, matcha parfait and Shibuya bread toast. Mrupupup ordered the Japanese matcha green tea latte and their swiss roll filled with coffee and caramel. Both orders came up to about $15. The cake and green tea latte were alright. Quite expensive for dessert and coffee, but you are in Orchard Road so expect prices to be steep. Watanabe CafĂ© dĂ©cor looks like a warehouse. Do take note the place gets crowded and try your best not to sit under the spotlights which made Mrupupup hot and uncomfortable in the cafĂ©. The spotlights were located at one corner of the cafĂ©. Super bright spotlights! Anyway, enjoy your day at Watanabe CafĂ© and enjoy list

Bakerzin Singapore Desserts Cakes at Vivocity outlet

Image
Singapore is one hot country, I mean the weather. Mrupupup got no choice but to rest at a cafĂ© in Vivocity to escape from the heat. Using promotion 1-1 offers (two cakes at $10), Mrupupup had a great time eating up two cakes from Bakerzin cafĂ© at Vivocity (level one near to CK Tangs store). The two cakes were New York cheesecake and Chocolate cake with ice cream. The New York cheesecake was awesome. Loved the melt in the mouth feeling of the cheese. The cake was not too sweet but flavourful. Very yummy! The chocolate cake was not too sweet, but Mrupupup got a sweet tooth so did not like the slight bitter taste of good quality chocolate used in the cake. But it was nice also! The Bakerzin cafĂ© was so bright in the day time afternoon that Mrupupup had to wear sunglasses to shield off from the afternoon sun's blazing glare. Ok, back to the cool interiors of Vivocity mall after eating the yummy cakes.

Ice Cream from Udders Serangoon Gardens

Image
Mrupupup bought a pint of Udders Ice Cream from their Serangoon Gardens outlet - My Village at Serangoon Gardens shopping mall 1st floor. Review - Thumbs Up! The Chocolatey Kity Kat flavour was great! - Nice smooth chocolate taste (not too sweet or bitter) - Not like those cheap local brand ice cream which can give one a bad after taste - Big chunks of kit kat wafers - Sales staff gave Mrupupup dry ice to keep the ice cream cold for one hour - Price wise about $11 was ok (Classic ice cream price) Udders got other price points for their pint like around $14 and $15 for those flavours with alcohol taste - Udders outlet was pack with many people - Udders gave free sampling till Mrupupup chose the chocolate flavour   Can see big chunks of Kit Kat Wafers - Yummy!

Mr Baguette -store that sells Baguette!

Image
I like Mr Baguette. Located at Golden Mile Hawker Centre, along Beach Road #B1-51 store number. As the name of the store implies, the humble store sells baguette (French bread cups but in smaller version) that are filled with different toppings like egg custard, red velvet, tiramisu and many flavours. The prices are reasonable about $1.50 to $1.80. The baguette bread came in a small bread cup, eat it slowly or you would get your mouth and even your nose stuff with the fillings (haha, mrupupup's nose got red velvet filling once). Mrupupup also bought Mr Baguette's garlic bread which was very crispy and nice. If you ask Mrupupup, the fillings with egg custard and red velvet were the most yummy! Eat the baguette while it is hot- super nice!

Alfero Artisan Gelato at Orchard Gateway

Image
Alfero Artisan Gelato at Orchard Gateway #B02-06 got the most yummy Gelato Ice Cream on the island. With a voucher for $5, Mrupupup tried out the Gelato at Alfero Artisan Gelato. Mrupupup looked at the various tubs of Gelato. The tubs were chilled and hidden inside those tubs were various flavours of Gelato. There were flavours of hazelnut, durian (premium), chocolate, berries and many more. As we were trying to match the flavours for two scoops, Mrupupup ordered the Matcha Green Tea and yuzu flavours. These two flavours - one sweet (matcha) and the other a bit sour (yuzu fruit). The combinations was yummy and smooth. With the voucher, mrupupup paid only $0.90 of the $5.90 price. Mrupupup also had a nice seat inside the shop which was crowded on a weekday night. People were just chatting over the Gelato and having a good time. Oh, taken from the table-note about Gelato as compared to normal ice cream, Gelato contains all natural ingredients which gave a richer & smoother tast

Ben & Jerry's Sundae the Core Singapore Flavours #coresg

Image
Mrupupup went to check out the new Ben & Jerry's core flavours within a sundae at the Vivocity Singapore outlet. The core flavours are banana brownie or triple phish. Mrupupup tried out the new core flavour of triple phish (tasted a lot like caramel fudge) within scoops of chunky monkey and chocolate brownie. Wow, the core really made the ice cream sundae super awesome. It was yummy to the max. Mrupupup getting fatter with this 'core' flavours within the Ben & Jerry's sundae. Dig into the CORE! See the core- dig into the core     See me the CORE   Can add toppings like nuts       #coresg     Dig into the core with this spoon!

Pine Garden's Cake Shop Ang Mo Kio

Image
Mrupupup loves to eat and could not resist the old school cakes from Pine Garden's Cake Shop at Blk 529 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10. This round Mrupupup had their yummy Pulut Hitam mousse sponge cake. The Pulut Hitam sponge cake was one creamy dessert cake which hits the palate just right to satisfy the cravings for  traditional dessert and cake at the same time. Pretty clever creation this Pulut Hitam cake. The other cake was the orange zest chocolate cake, Mrupupup loved its match of orange and chocolate all in one. This cake was not as moist as the other Pulut Hitam cake. It was nice though and pretty good old school cake. Cake price about $2 to $5 depends on the flavors. Mrupupup could not resist all the cakes and managed to take pictures of the cakes: cartoon cakes, old style cakes, black forest cake, lychee martin cake (do try this very interesting flavour!), many more! The prices are good and value for money. The shop also sells bread (not expensive) about $1 and small tarts/ t

The Cornerstone Cafe at Bishan Park

Image
Mrupupup went to Cornerstone CafĂ© for Brunch. The eating place is located at Bishan Park 2 (the one with the Macdonalds). The Cornerstone offers a large place for people to gather to have brunch. Brunch consisted of slices of roast beef, ham, squid, tuna in tiny cute cones, lobster pasta in a spoon and the wonderful desserts. Wow, the desserts were the nice part! Cornerstone had marsh mellow with sweet sauces, wonderful cakes, tiny cups with sweet things, cookies, many wonderdul things which Mrupupup had recorded on pictures. Yummys!!!!! Mrupupup loved to eat! If you have dogs, the Cornerstone is dog friendly, Mrupupup saw large dogs and small dogs and even a nice cat enjoying the sunny day! Very nice place for a weekend brunch! OK, attached below their burger and soups. Yummy!

Nine Thirty by Awfully Chocolate at Esplanade

Image
Nine Thirty (former Loola's) by Awfully Chocolate at the Esplanade Mall (#02-14) has revamped to be a cool place to eat Western food and of course their hot chocolate. The new menu options looks good but a bit on the high side in terms of price. The service was good though! Mrupupup started with the mushroom soup which was delicious and creamy. Best part was to dip the toasted bread into the soup - nice. Next Mrupupup tried the bread type of food with an egg and baked ham pieces on top with sides like chips, olives and onions. Wow, really filling! Really an 'all day breakfast' type of food. The bread was toasted and such a huge piece!   Mrupupup also tried their fish and chips which was yummy but oily. Next item was their pancakes which looked like 'Macdonald's' pancakes. Pancake was fluffy soft and bit too sweet with the syrup. Mrupupup also had a bit of honey baked ham with a huge baked apple. Pretty well done and easy to eat. Pretty g

Twelve Cupcakes' cupcakes

Image
Mrupupup finally tried the Twelve Cupcakes! Mrupupup had the cupcake which was red velvet with very nice cream cheese on top (and a cute heart also). Thanks to a generous sponsor, Mrupupup could smell the other the cupcakes but could not eat. Haha! Could not take all the cupcakes if not friends would scold Mrupupup. Wa, Twelve Cupcake was really nice. Mrupupup thought cupcake was a simple food, but Twelve Cupcake was nice, fluffy, not too sweet and not oily, buttery (taste was just nice!). Noticed from the website each box of 6 costs $17 and $33 for a dozen, not really cheap though. Ok, more sponsors of Twelve Cupcakes please, Mrupupup would gladly eat the cupcakes up. Mrupupup would like to try the other flavours like chocolate, green tea, mocha, vanilla, and cookies & cream. Eating a cupcake just makes one Happy, did make Mrupupup delighted! Red Velvet Cupcake- taste the best!
