Image
Mrupupup was very fortunate to attend Scoot Airline's very first flight in operation on 4 June 2012. The flight was the very first and was from Singapore to Sydney, Australia. Mrupupup had complementary tickets on board their 'FlyBagEat' tier - a flight to Sydney on economy seats, 15kg luggage and a meal & drink on board. Scoot is a budget airline is which owned by Singapore Airlines and is using Boeing 777 to fly long hauls flight on budget rates. Going to Sydney from Singapore can be as low as $158 per person (with only cabin luggage). Well, as with most budget airlines things like food, drinks and blankets are chargable. For Scoot, they have on rental Ipads for your use if you are bored on flights lasting 6-8 hours (costs $22). Scoot is value for money for long haul flights to places like Sydney or Gold Coast if one is on a tight budget. Budget airlines like Scoot do have its contraints like no tv to watch and no drinks or food like normal airlines. The inaugural (

Budak Pantai Superb @ Singapore Arts Festival 2012

Image
Budak Pantai the 'acapalla' singing group simply rocks at the recent Singapore Arts Festival 2012 held at the Esplanade Park. The group gave a superb concert with all the hits and medleys. Mrupupup loves Budak Pantai in the way they change the lyrics of  famous songs to give it a local 'twist'. Very nice concert. Totally enjoyed every moment of it! Took some pictures of Budak Pantai & flea market held at the Esplanade Bridge and recorded short clips of them singing! Juchheim Baumkuchen @ Takashimaya Singapore

Image
Juchheim baumchuken cakes are here in Singapore's Takashimaya store (basement two). Check out the pretty box and the chocolate layered baumkuchen cake below. Baumchuken is a type of german and japanese creation with the characteristic 'tree like rings'around the cake. Baumchuken is german word for 'tree cake'. As with most Japanese food creations, their food products comes with pretty packaging. Juchheim is from Kobe Japan and was establised in 1909. The layered cake was nice and tastes unique. It would be better if the baumchuken cake is eaten chilled or with a good cup of green tea. Need to slowly eat in small bites, in fact savour the cake. Yumz! Mrupupup loves cake!
