Chingay 2014 Singapore

Image
Mrupupup got the chance to attend the preview Chingay 2014 show at the Singapore F1 pit area. Thanks to the organisers! The Chingay 2014 show was really nice. The theme of diverse cultures and family managed to pull the 'heartstrings' of the audience.  Mrupupup enjoyed the various performances and colourful display of lights and costumes. Only in Singapore could the many races and diverse cultures be on display for people to enjoy in the Chingay Parade show. As this year 2014 was the year of the Horse, there was even a huge replica horse. Great Chingay 2014!

Moon andy Biiboo

Moon rises and calm prevails in Zing Zing World. The rustle of clothes been 'tanned' by the moonlight at our Zing Zing World Doobie Apartments. Softly and gently are the snores of the night. From the night, rises the Night Watchman covering all of Zing Zing World.        The Night Watchman complained of the recent case of some strange "Andyman" complaining of our Doobie trains. Andyman is a pink skin being from outer realm of Zing Zing World.  Night Watchman felt that the Andyman was a bad menace to Zing Zing World. "Let society rise up against the tyranny of Andyman although Doobie Trains were at fault at times," exclaimed the Night Watchman.       Zing Zing World settled into the night. Her motherland feeling at peace, but the morning would come. Zing Zing World would spring to life again. The cycle of Doobie trains would begin as everyday would be and the netizens of Zing Zing World would continue in its quest to fill the internet space.      The mo

Story imagination

A typical day started out in Zing Zing world. The sun was up today. It was bright but surprisingly the day was cool. Sometimes, Mr Up Up Up wondered the world would end soon in this lifetime. The weather today was an indication.        Mrupupup hopped onto the local Zing Zing World transport - Mass Doobie Transport (the train). Poor transport authorities, every other day somehow or rather a train would break down somewhere out there. Life goes on even the train don't work. Zing Zing world people are a zealous lot; out to work, out to school, out to some hobby, out to have life.        Zoom. The train came and picked up Mrupupup. Off it went to the location - the imaginary stop of Makanworld. Ding dong, alighting Mrupupup. The trains in Zing Zing world were like space capsules, it moved fast and very automated (without drivers).         Makanworld. Zing Zing World's stop for food. Mrupupup thought that Zing Zing World was one big makan nation. Apologies to those readers fr

Curry Times - Serving Yummy Curry Dishes

Image
From the international franchise Old Chang Kee (the famous curry puff store), comes a cafe dedicated to serving all things curry. Curry Times is located at #01-07, Novena Velocity, 238 Thomson Road. Mrupupup got the lunch value set of curry chicken with rice, spicy long beans and red bandung drink (Rose syrup drink) at $8.90. Pretty good curry stuff - loved the tender chicken pieces with spicy curry sauce served together with fragrant rice. Other dishes we had were the curry chicken ramen noodles (about $8) and the dry chicken rice (about $8). Mrupupup also loved the decorations of the cafĂ© with servers in traditional clothes. The great thing about Curry Times was that they serve biscuits - old style biscuits of sugar and it is for free! Best dish- Curry Chicken with rice & long beans   Free Biscuits     Bandung drink (Rose syrup)   Curry Chicken Ramen   A bit too dry - Dry chicken curry rice (it's spicy)

Genki Sushi at Chinatown Point

Image
Mrupupup has been going to this Genki Sushi outlet at Chinatown Point - 133 New Bridge Road (#02-33). Mrupupup loved the smart high tech system in place to order for the Japanese dishes. One could get a little excited when the food train comes with the food and a bit of fun by ordering using the Ipad provided. Just order and the food train would deliver pretty fast within a few minutes. Mrupupup ordered the fresh sushi, tempura rice bowl and the sushi rice bowl. The sushi served by Genki Sushi always tasted 'fresh'. The sushi rice bowl with prawns, fish roe, tuna sushi and swordfish sushi. Mrupupup also liked the tempura rice bowl with the crispy fried pieces of prawn, eggplant, mushroom and pepper. Genki Sushi also provides comfortable sitting and has cups of water (self service). The prices were decent: rice bowls about $7.80, sushi about $2 and handroll with sushi about $2.30. Enjoy sushi with high tech trains!     Yummy salmon handroll     High
